We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Generator Condition Monitoring Engineer with our client, a company who is a world leader in the world of power generation and integrated power plants for the production of electricity. They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Engineer with a background in electrical testing of generators.
Your responsibilities will include electrical and mechanical testing on rotors, stators, exciters and auxiliary systems on site and additional support within workshops, configuration of condition monitoring system platform including PC server set-up. This includes Microsoft Windows server configuration with remote system networks, historical database set-up in conjunction with generator specific software monitoring tools. Contract project management for Generator condition monitoring solutions - assessment of requirements, customisation of products, production of schematic drawings, project quality plans, project installation programs and cost control of project and generator condition monitoring reports (Service provision utilising Data collected from monitoring systems)
The successful candidate will hold an HNC or equivalent qualification as a minimum and have the ability to conduct a full range of generator offline and online, electrical and mechanical tests including high voltage ac and dc testing, stator El Cid and ring flux testing, have an understanding of generator design principles, including temperatures within Generators, an appreciation of vibrations, electrical characteristics, ventilation and AVR/excitation systems. The successful candidate will be flexible in order to travel worldwide in order to perform site testing to support field service.
