RES Offshore takes a turnkey approach to project development and takes responsibility for managing all aspects of the project including landowner negotiations, resource assessment and energy yield evaluation, environmental impact assessment and consenting, grid connection and project financing. In order to bring this level of expertise to the offshore sector, RES has built up a dedicated offshore development team which has successfully consented the Round 1 Inner Dowsing project and worked with Centrica to prepare and support the successful consent application for the Round 2 Lincs project.
The close integration of our offshore development and engineering teams and underlying, solution-driven ethos has allowed us to develop realistic technical solutions to mitigate potential environmental issues, thereby reducing programme and budget risks. The development phase determines the extent to which a project can be successfully implemented and contributes directly to the value created. Our development team, supported by the full range of engineering and technical resources, ensures that the development strategy delivers fully optimised projects.
Bringing experience and innovation in our approach
Our technical experience in designing and managing marine environmental surveys has allowed us to maximise the outputs ensuring high quality data is collected to support robust EIA's. This technical expertise, coupled with the close working relationship that we maintain with our stakeholders, has allowed us to bring novel solutions to potential show-stopper issues; for example; an innovative, staged approach was developed in close consultation with Natural England and CEFAS to identify a suitable export cable route through the internationally protected Wash estuary.
