In the mineral processing industries, such as calcination or catalysts production, solid intermediates and products are regularly handled in fine powder form. There is a need to recover these powders from the exhaust streams of  calciners, fluid bed dryers, incinerators, and storage silos, often at critical temperature conditions. Apart from being the best choice among other cyclones, Hurricane cyclones are often sufficiently efficient to avoid the use of other much more expensive equipments, such as ceramic filters.
