CERC - EMIT Introductory Training Courses
This course introduces the EMIT software as a tool for collating data describing sources releasing emissions to air. Through a series of presentations and worked examples, delegates will learn how to use EMIT to store, calculate, manipulate and assess emissions data for a variety of sources, and how to use EMIT to investigate the impact on emissions of various emission reduction strategies, for example clean air zones or low traffic neighbourhoods.
Training Courses Overview
Day 1
The first day gives an introduction to an EMIT database. Topics covered include the structure of the database and how to create a new database, key source parameters and where they are stored, and importing and exporting data.
Day 2
On the second day there is a detailed discussion of roads, including the calculation of emissions from vehicles. Applications of EMIT, including source apportionment and the investigation of traffic management schemes such as low emission zones (LEZ), are also discussed.
