From the initial customer meeting to the conceptual design stage and all the way to the delivery of the instrument and its installation, RST’s commitment to client satisfaction is a constant process which is maintained at all stages. Coupled with our innovative geotechnical instrumentation, it is the foundation of our success.
Headquartered in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada, RST Instruments Ltd. has been at the forefront of the engineering instrumentation industry since 1977.
Established in 1977 as PETUR™ Instruments Ltd., by Robert Straghan Sr., the company was first developed to manufacture the PETUR™ piezometer. The company later changed its name in 1980 to R.S. Technical Instruments Ltd. to reflect the increased range of rock and soil mechanics instrumentation that the company began to manufacture. In 1989, Carlson Instruments Inc. was acquired, thus broadening the product line to include proven concrete instrumentation with a 50 year track record.
Currently, known as RST Instruments Ltd., the company has established itself as a world leader in the manufacturing and distribution of innovative geotechnical, mining, environmental and structural monitoring equipment. RST’s geotechnical instruments have been integral components for major international projects that require monitoring and measuring.
RST takes much pride in our ability to provide custom engineered solutions to site-specific problems. To meet our customers’ needs, RST is situated in a 4,000 square meter modern facility which houses a cutting edge machine shop that incorporates the latest in CAD, CAM, and CNC manufacturing techniques. Such techniques assure high quality, at a reasonable cost, with timely delivery. Also on site is an electronics lab, research and development facilities, and a customized assembly line.
RST’s geotechnical instruments are sold globally with additional support from a network of nearly 30 worldwide distributors.
