Continuous emissions monitoring in waste incineration plants - Waste and Recycling

Waste-to-energy through incineration of waste is an effective way of producing electricity and heat, at the same time getting rid of the possibly hazardous or unrecyclable waste. The waste can be incinerated at specific WtE plants or at plants with permission for co-incineration of waste at biomass boilers or cement kilns. The waste incineration plants are, however, governed by strict emissions regulations.

The demand for simultaneous measurement of multiple gaseous emission components continuously at waste incineration and co-incineration plants is a task for which the Gasmet™ CEM II continuous emissions monitoring system has been designed. The system is of our design and make, the technology is tried and tested. The CEM II system has both (17th BlmSchV) and MCERTS type approval certificates for continuous emissions monitoring. Typical FTIR measurement application is the measurement of H2O, CO2, CO, N2O, NO, NO2, SO2, HCl, HF, NH3, CH4, C2H6, C3H8, and C2H4. Measuring these multiple gas components with a single analyzer greatly reduces operation and maintenance costs of the system. The Gasmet™ CEM II system can be used in various monitoring of various types of waste: municipal, hospital, chemical, hazardous waste, municipal sludge, etc. Each system is built on order, and calibrated according to the needs of the customer to suit the plant-specific needs.
