Haemers Technologies Propositions for Oil & Gas industry - Oil, Gas & Refineries
Oil production does not go withoutenvironmental riskand localsocial impact: leakages of crude oil, gas flaring, toxic waste. More and more Oil companies are aware of their responsibilities and develop programs to deal with social and environmental issues.

With Smart Burners ESTD, excavated soil is treated in batches of about 2000 m3. The soil is put in piles and the heating elements are positions horizontally in it. Heating (up to 250°C) usually takes about 1 month.
As described in the technical file vaporised oil can be used as source of energy for the heating elements. Though when extracted from the soil by a SVE system, the hydrocarbons can be recuperated through a condensation system. In fact with this approach, recycling of a large part of the oil can be achieved, creating value and less environmental impact. With the correct design we were able to recover up to 70 % of the initial oil.
As fuel for the burners natural gas can be used, which is often available at exploitation sites. Where petroleum crude oil is extracted, raw natural gas is often produced to the surface as well. Especially in areas where pipelines are lacking, this gas is often flared as unusable waste. It is possible to use this gas (assumed it has the right composition) as energy source for the thermal system.
An alternative is the use of propane gas, in case the use of gas is problematic. For instance on remote locations, with limited natural gas available, Haemers Technologies can adapt the burners and use diesel instead of gas.
