atmospheric monitoring equipment Applications

  • Gas control equipment for Life Science

QCAL introduces CO2Control for incubators and test chambers. These gas dosing units can be adapted to nearly every incubator or test chamber. The user can set a CO2 concentration up to 30% vol. CO2. The CO2Control measures the actual concentration and adds CO2 from a CO2 gas container. The NDIR CO2-sensor has an excellent long-term stability, which provides years of stable CO2 measurement. Also the other parts as the sample gas pump, valve and fittings are designed for maintenance-free use over years. Humidity effects are compensated upto 95% rh at 37°C, also temperature effects are automatically corrected upto 50°C. The other way to control gas atmospheres in any life science equipment is to use gas mixing units GMS_2CH ( 2 channels ) or GMS_3CH ( 3 channels ) for N2, O2 and CO2. They can match flowrates up to 80 liters per minute with a concentration range up to 100 Vol% O2 and/or CO2.

Gas monitoring instruments and systems for compressed breathing air

Compressed breathing air is subject to strict limits of harmful contaminants defined in European standard EN 12021 and various defence standards such as DEF STAN 68-284 issue 3. The testing interval of breathing air compressors and associated equipment is 3 months and gases tested include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oil vapour defined as hexane and heavier hydrocarbons. EN 12021 covers underwater applications including self-contained open circuit compressed gas breathing (SCUBA) and compressed gas line breathing (hard-helmet diving), respiratory equipment used on ground for escaping from toxic atmospheres and for working in contaminated atmospheres. It also covers breathing gas for hyperbaric operations and synthetic air. While EN 12021 does not cover aerospace applications, the British MOD publication DEF STAN 68-284 and its counterparts in other countries cover also the breathing gases used in aviation.

High quality gas sensor solutions for mining industry

Fast, accurate and reliable measurement of CH4. The extraction of coal releases methane gas, which can mix with the air in a mine to form a hazard due to its flammability. Ventilation with fresh air from the surface is used to dilute the methane and reduce the risk of explosion. Monitoring of the methane content of the stale air exiting the mine allows the amount of ventilation to be controlled. Although our sensors are not ATEX approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres they are suitable for monitoring air containing methane concentrations below the lower explosive limit. Our OEM products can be built into equipment which is approved for use in the monitoring of mine exhaust gas and similar applications.
