Cooling Towers and Process Water System Cleaning Applications Using Hydrogen Peroxide

by USP Technologies     based in Atlanta, GEORGIA (US) (USA)

The unique properties of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) make it a good technology for keeping cooling loops, process water loops and heat exchangers clean from fouling that can occur due to various contaminants in the water. Hydrogen peroxide works well in removing organic fouling on surfaces through mechanical means and in specific applications through biocidal mechanisms. Hydrogen peroxide can be used in a shock treatment mode where it is fed based on a timer set-up. It can also be used occasionally at higher concentrations for maintenance cleaning purposes of fouled heat exchangers, cooling water loops and process water loops. Performing an occasional shock cleaning of a heat exchanger with hydrogen peroxide can remove buildup from surfaces and can result in improved heat transfer efficiency. By removing surface fouling, hydrogen peroxide may also improve the efficiency of other biocides such as bleach, bromine and non-oxidizers.

Diverse Surface Treatment Technologies for Military Industry

We have developed washing techniques and technologies for the military industry in keeping with high military standards of safety and efficiency, using water jets and the sanding power of aluminum oxide. We are currently creating an anchor profile that will allow us to file a plating patent application for an exclusive, entirely automated surface treatment which prolongs engine life in extreme conditions. At IST Pure, we also manufacture washing tunnels for the complete cleaning of military vehicles and ballistic equipment to prepare for and return from missions.

Medical and Bio-hazard Waste Treatment Technology with zero emissions

by OZONATOR Industries Limited     based in Regina, SASKATCHEWAN (CANADA)

The OZONATOR technology is the new NG-3000 model capable of processing up to 400 kg (880 lbs.) of waste every twenty minutes (1200 kg per hour) and can operate on a continuous basis 24 hours per day – 7 days per week with about one hour per week for service and cleaning. The waste is shredded with up to 90% reduction in volume and treated with a high concentration of ozone (sterilized) and then compacted into a stainless steel transport bin for disposal at landfill as general waste (daily cover) or the treated waste can be used as fuel in a WTE (waste-to-energy) facility. (CV 36.4 MJ/kg)

Air pollution control for the remediation industry

by Anguil Environmental Systems, Inc.     based in Milwaukee, WISCONSIN (USA)

Thermal and catalytic oxidizers are one of the primary vapor treatment technologies used in purifying harmful compounds from contaminated groundwater or soil.  Global Technologies is the remediation division of Anguil Environmental Systems focused on treating emissions that are extracted from below the earths` surface.  Formed shortly after the 1990 Clean Air Act targeted emissions associated with the extraction of polluted compounds from contaminated sites, Global subsurface remediation equipment has been successfully applied on contaminated sites in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Metal Sorting - End of Life Vehicles Scrap Sorting

by TOMRA Sorting (TITECH)     based in Mülheim-Kärlich, GERMANY

Using modern TOMRA sorting technology you can generate clean non-ferrous metal fractions in your daily shredder operation. The processing of valuable scrap metal gains more and more importance worldwide. The aim is to generate clean, mono-fraction products from this very complex stream of End of Life Vehicles scrap metal material using suitable separation procedures. And that is worthwhile; End of Life Vehicles scrap processing does not only preserve natural resources of raw material, but it is also considerably cheaper. Compared to the aluminium production from primary raw material, using secondary material from End of Life Vehicles saves around 90% of the energy demand.

Waste recovery for glass manufacturing

by Tetronics (International) Limited     based in Swindon, UNITED KINGDOM

Tetronics` twin torch system has been used continuously for the commercial production of high quality silica glass for optical applications since 1992. Tetronics’ unique twin torch technology allows a plasma arc to be created in space, which enables a falling stream of high quality silica powder to be melted at the junction of the two arcs to form an ingot of high optical quality silica glass. By using plasma as a clean and controllable heat source, the product has a high degree of integrity, because the absence of a natural gas flame means the resulting product is free from bubbles, contamination and other defects.

Industrial Solution for gasification & synthetic gas

by Macrotek Inc.     based in Markham, ONTARIO (CANADA)

Gasification and synthetic gas production from various waste products are becoming increasingly important energy recovery technologies. Often, the synthetic gas contains various hazardous contaminants including H2S, HCl and other acids, heavy metals, and tars. The gas requires cleaning before it is introduced in the engine or boiler. Most of these processes generate significant concentration of tars. The tars can vary from very low molecular weight to large and complex chains.

by Macrotek Inc.     based in Markham, ONTARIO (CANADA)

Macrotek has designed and supplied systems for many different applications in the food sector including sugar, starch, corn, sugar cane and rendering. A common challenge in many of these industries is the collection and treatment of explosive dust. Baghouses were the primary technology for particulate clean up, however, recent major incidents and explosions in these industries, particularly sugar handling, have resulted in a review and change in dust system collection design and strategy. Macrotek is an experienced leader in the development of these new technologies.

Solutions for the wastewater sector

by DMT Global Environmental Solutions BV     based in Joure (NL), NETHERLANDS

Conventional wastewater treatment systems are focused on efficient removal of polluting components. This is commonly done through aeration and separation of formed biomass from the cleaned water. After treatment the water would be discharged onto surface waters or subsoil irrigation. Introduction of polishing steps after these treatment systems opened up the possibilities to reuse water for either irrigation or even potable water. DMT Environmental Technology also implements these solutions with its MemBioRex membrane bioreactor. Nowadays novel technologies enable reuse of saline water within industries such as unconventional oil and gas, industry, agriculture, and mining. DMT Water Technology develops and realises innovative products to enable our customers to meet these challenges.
