BioSolve Pinkwater eliminates fire and explosion hazard when sprayed directly onto a fuel/oil spill. Aggressive agitation with a course stream reduces volatilization and causes LEL readings to immediately decline, possibly registering “0.” Application of Pinkwater also facilitates roadway cleanup and elimination of hazardous oil sheen.
On October 13, 2014, Sunoco notified the National Response Center that the Mid Valley Pipeline had a crude oil release from a 20 inch pipeline that occurred near Mooringsport, Louisiana. The crude oil entered into the Miller Branch Creek of the Tete Bayou which feeds into Caddo Lake. Sunoco has estimated the release to be approximately 4000 barrels. Oil Shark® fences were used to assist the cleanup efforts.
At around 00:00 local time the morning of Nov 8, 2013 a train carrying crude oil derailed south of Aliceville, AL causing up to 23 cars to be derailed. Many of the cars caught on fire and several of them were breached. OSC Jordan Garrard was deployed to the scene to work with ADEM and the RP to conduct oversight of the cleanup operations.
BioSolve Pinkwater is used for cleaning/decontaminating tools and equipment at remediation sites, in refineries, on drilling rigs, following spill cleanup, and in industrial maintenance operations. Generally applied with standard pressure washing equipment. Most oil and tar build-up can be washed away on contact. For more severe contamination, use of a hot water system may yield better results.
