Continuous emissions monitoring for mercury monitoring

by Opsis AB     based in Furulund, SWEDEN

Waste incinerators, cement plants and power plants need good and reliable measurements of total gaseous mercury. The measurement of total gaseous mercury is a challenge due to chemical reactions and contamination. The installed systems will often require a lot of maintanence still not giving reliable results.

Continuous emissions monitoring for carbon capture and storage

by Enviro Technology Services plc     based in Stroud, UNITED KINGDOM

The process control of a CO2 capture plant needs good and reliable detection of gas phase NH3. Measuring NH3 is a challenge due to the corrosive environment and high concentrations of NH3. Several places in the process needs to be monitored and to transport the sample is difficult. A large dynamic range is needed as the NH3 concentration can vary between 15% volume and a few mg/m3.

Raw-gas monitoring for scrubber optimizing

by Opsis AB     based in Furulund, SWEDEN

The consumption of scrubbing material in a scrubber is related to the mass flow of acid gases. Hydrogen chloride (HCl) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) are the major acid gases in an incinerator. By measuring the mass flow of SO2 and HCl in the raw gas going into the scrubber, it is possible to calculate the required quantity of scrubbing material.

PM2.5/PM10 particulate monitoring

by Opsis AB     based in Furulund, SWEDEN

OPSIS provides real-time, flexible monitoring of particulate matter in the ambient air. Particulate matter monitoring with OPSIS, is a cost-effective solution, is ideally suited for use in modern monitoring stations. It can be remote controlled and includes automatic calibration, features that frees time.  The SM200 meets the new regulation for automatic monitoring of PM10 and PM2.5. It also meets the new regulation for particulate matter sampling on filter membranes for further analysis of cadmium, nickel, PAH and other substances.

Continuous emissions monitoring for brick plants

by Opsis AB     based in Furulund, SWEDEN

Process control and emissions monitoring in a brick plant is a challenge due to the high concentrations of HF. The HF is generated in the process and gas phase HF can reach 50 mg/m3 or more. To use an extractive system in this environment will demand a lot of maintanence.

Pressure Monitor use in a Containment Area

by Omnitec Design, Inc.     based in Mukilteo, WASHINGTON (USA)

When using negative pressure containment, it is important to monitor the pressure inside the containment in reference to the outside area. However, because the typical negative pressure required is usually only 0.020”WC, it can be difficult to find equipment sensitive enough to measure and monitor your containment area. Omnitec Design has two options to meet this need. Both the Watchman Differential Pressure Monitor and the self-contained Omniguard 4 Pressure Recorder are designed to provide highly accurate monitoring and alarm functions while still being easy to setup with a simple push-button calibration. A pressure monitor is a very important tool that can help ensure the integrity of a containment. Dealing with hazardous debris from abatement/remediation jobs can be a sensitive task that demands safe practices by workers to guarantee their safety, and those who may come into contact with potentially harmful material.

Urban air quality monitoring

by Opsis AB     based in Furulund, SWEDEN

To measure air quality in the ambient air is a challenge. The monitoring site needs to be representative and not dependant on changes in local traffic. A large number of gaseous components need to be measured with high accuracy and high availability.

Perimeter Ambient Air Monitoring

by Cerex Monitoring Solutions, LLC.     based in Atlanta, GEORGIA (US) (USA)

Cerex Multi-Gas Open Path Analyzers are available in both FTIR and UVDOAS technologies to meet specific requirements for perimeter ambient air quality monitoring, leak detection, fugitive emissions monitoring and ambient air quality monitoring. Cerex multi-gas analyzers offer significant advantages over single gas analyzer arrays, electro-chemical sensor arrays and time integrated air sampling hardware

SO2 Monitoring in Air

by Unisearch Associates Inc.     based in Concord, ONTARIO (CANADA)

SO2 (sulfur dioxide) is measured in a number of applications. SO2 is used as a food grade preservative and must be regulated in accordance with government-set criteria to be safe for consumers. It is also measured in fuel exhaust to control for environmental pollution and in cement plants for process control.

Opacity monitoring for continuous emissions

by DynOptic Systems Ltd     based in Brackley, UNITED KINGDOM

The history of air pollution regulation dates back as far as the 13th century when in 1273, Edward I (Longshanks) of England prohibited the burning of sea coal in London. The smoke produced by its combustion was considered detrimental to human health. By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, regulations were being passed that sought to control air pollution predominantly for smoke and odour control. Traditionally, regulators were concerned with the visual impact of the discharge from a stack or chimney. Therefore, emission limits were expressed in terms of colour or opacity. Modern methods for opacity measurement still use the darkness of the stack gases to measure the amount of smoke or dust emitted within the exhaust gases.

Fence Line Monitoring/ Source Identification

by Cooper Environmental     based in Beaverton, OREGON (USA)

The Xact 625 combined with ADAPT software creates the industry's most powerful tool for high time resolution detection of airborne metals. The Xact 625 measures trace metals at very low detection limits at time resolutions down to 15 minutes. The ADAPT package captures corresponding wind speed and wind direction data, then seamlessly integrates the measurements into wind regression analyses available at the touch of a button. This creates the most single most powerful fence line/ source identification instrument in the industry.
