compost monitoring Applications

  • Remote temperature monitoring

To abide local regulations, and ensure efficient and effective composting, the temperatures of the windrows must be measured and logged constantly. With accurate temperature measurements, you can determine the optimum time to turn the windrows for quicker compost production. Time consuming and error prone manual data collection is eliminated using a SureCross FlexPower Node equipped with three thermocouples to automatically monitor the temperature at three depths within a compost windrow. Temperature sensor readings are wirelessly transmitted back to the Gateway or host system for data collection, analysis, and logging. Because the temperatures are measured and recorded continuously, the composting rows can be turned as soon as the temperature reaches the ideal point. Continuously monitoring the temperature will also provide an early warning to potential fire hazards by notifying personnel when temperatures exceed recommended ranges, thereby preserving the product.

  • Odour measurement on industrial sites like waste water treatment plants (WWTP), landfill, compost plant...

CairNet is a simple and efficient way to monitor processes and plant surroundings via a wireless communicating network and autonomous (solar panel and battery). CairNet surveys fugitive emissions of toxic gases or odourous gases around waste water treatment plants (WWTP), allowing you to react quickly to gas leaks. CairNet allows the wireless survey of hundreds of measurement points within a 200m radius of the wireless receiver for a much efficient installation cost. Cairpol systems can be used for fugitive emissions and odour measurement on industrial sites like waste water treatment plants (WWTP), landfill, compost plant, along a street or motorway, or in any sensitive area. • Temperature monitoring in a rotary kiln

Taking measurements on rotating equipment, such as a kiln or rotary table, usually requires a complex and expensive system of cabling. Even taking precautions and using specialized equipment doesn’t eliminate cable tangles and breaks. The SureCross Wireless Network eliminates complexities associated with data acquisition from rotating and moving machinery such as a rotating kilns in cement or composting industry. Crucial temperature data is acquired using a thermocouple and transmitted from the FlexPowered SureCross Nodes to a remote Gateway in the plant’s control center.

  • Indoor air quality measurement

CairTub allows the easy deployment of autonomous measurement points virtually anywhere. The system can be used in harsh weather conditions. It is also the ideal tool for low cost studies for the optimisation and setting-up of fixed air quality monitoring stations. Cairpol systems can be used for fugitive emissions and odour measurement on industrial sites like waste water treatment plants (WWTP), landfill, compost plant, along a street or motorway, or in any sensitive area. Cairpol monitoring systems also offer the possibility to measure continuously pollutant levels in workshop atmospheres, houses and public buildings.
