contaminated soil washing Applications

  • In-Situ Soil & Groundwater Remediation

The use of H2O2 to chemically oxidize the contaminants into mineralized products (CO2 , salts, and readily biodegradable organic fragments) offers a number of advantages over these current treatment methods. Benefits of Soil Decontamination by Chemical Oxidation: The reagent used (H2O2) is inexpensive, readily available, and has as its reaction products water and oxygen; The chemistry of the process (Fenton's Reagent) has been known for over 50 years and its applicability to a wide variety of contaminants is well documented; The process is easily applied and controlled; The treatment occurs rapidly, lasting from a few hours to a few weeks; The process produces no by-product wastestreams, and can be tuned for the degree of contaminant removal desired. This allows it to be used synergistically with other technologies such as biotreatment or soil washing.

Hazardous waste treatment solutions for site remediation

The contamination of soils as a result of prior chemical production can often be unpredictable and diverse. The majority of such pollutants will require an ex-situ treatment method. Many of our VacuDry units can be used for direct-feeding contaminated soils. To reduce the input amount for thermal treatment, the VacuDry units can also be used in combination with soil-washing plants: In this case, customers only feed the high polluted fractions and screened fines (e.g. below 10 mm), as well as the filter-cake from the soil washing process. However, we are able to handle soil contaminated with mercury, hydrocarbons, PAH, PCB, dioxins, furans, organic-lead compounds and many more. VacuDry plants for on-site ex-situ remediation projects are delivered in a modular design.

  • Disposable soil headspace testing container

The OVT container is an innovative product and a highly effective tool for the preliminary testing of media/soils that have been impacted by a wide variety of volatile organic contaminants of concern (COC’s). • No preparation or modification needed prior to use in field • Air tight OVT lid has built in sealed sampling ports of varying sizes to accommodate different size OVA probes. • Lids snap together so all samples from one well/boring can be easily grouped together. • Reduced potential for injury to employees due to non-breakable material, lighter carrying weight and no sharp cutting edges as on aluminum foil boxes or use of razor knives; • Lid is recyclable & container is made from an environmentally friendly biodegradable material (corn-based) ; • Disposable container reduces potential for cross-contamination of samples (creating invalid data) due to washing and reusing mason jars from multiple sites; • The OVT cell can be purchased on-line and shipped directly to your office or obtained at a local equipment rental location. • Granted a USPTO patent and accepted by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection-BPSS as an Innovative Technology.

  • EcoTex laundry systems for Hospitals

Hospital laundries process thousands of pounds of contaminated laundry every day. On the average, this equates to some 3.2 million pounds a year of linens, gowns, bed clothing, pads, mops, and washing cloths. Not only is soil removal a concern, so is disinfection. But with an EcoTex System, hospitals can remove soils while achieving a 99.999% bacterial kill. Cold water washing eradicates C.diff, Aspergillus Niger, and MRSA, while eliminating up to 90 percent of the hot water you’re now using. The EcoTex system is soft on fabrics for extended linen life. It is UL, cUL and CE certified and guaranteed for long-lasting performance. All while saving you a staggering amount on rising electricity, gas and water costs.
