Emission control & air dedusting for steel and ferrous alloys

teel and ferrous alloys production happens in industrial manufacturing processes which involve high temperature exhaust streams, often at more than 900 ºC. Typically, the gas flows into a gas conditioning tower to cool down to approximately 200 ºC, before entering into an ESP. These flue gases from steel or ferrous alloys kilns are also very maintenance demanding for bag filters and the very small size of the particles limit the use of usual dedusters such as regular cyclones and multicyclones as pre-separators. Bag filter failure is consequently a very common problem for clients in this industry.

Client`s needs include a very robust dedusting system, either serving as end-stage collector avoiding the need to cool down flue gases, or strongly minimizing the loads of aggressive material to bag filters.

Emission control & air dedusting for fuel oil boilers

For PM emission control in high temperature exhaust streams, such as fuel oil boilers, usual dedusters such as bag filters are very maintenance demanding. Particularly, diesel and fuel particulates are very sticky and clog to filter elements, unless protection reagents are used. Flue gas cooling is also needed in front of the filter when temperatures are higher than 200 ºC. On the other hand, regular cyclones and multicyclones are frequently not able to reduce emissions to present emission limits.

Odor control for the poultry feed production

The animal feed industry has its roots in the way traditional millers grinded the grains centuries ago, using (wooden) windmills. Nowadays feed is produced for chickens and other poultry, as well as for cattle, pigs and horses. There is a wide variety of feed and grains produced, with different raw materials (nutrients) applied in several compositions.

In this modern era electric driven pellet mills are applied and grains are cooled mainly in counterflow coolers. To remove dust from the used cooling air usually a baghouse filter is being used which can meet the current severe dust emission standards. After this the air eventually will be blown outside. Especially the cooling air of poultry feed and pig feed production should be deodorized to prevent complaints.

A factory usually has multiple pellet lines in service with about 15,000 to 25,000 m3/h of cooling air per line. Aerox has developed specific solutions for this industry.

On the one hand a compact Aerox®-Injector can be installed per pellet line. On the other hand, airflows of different production lines can be joined together and can be treated with one compact Aerox®-Injector. In practice, this can be added up to 4 lines with a total airflow of up to 90,000 m3/h.

Since the Aerox®-Injector can run on different capacities unnecessary power consumption is prevented when not all pellet lines are in service. This benefits the environment and reduces operational costs.
