  • Dust monitoring of exhaust gases from manufacturing processes

    DynOptic dust monitors use the innovative Dynamic Detection Principle (DDP) to measure dust and particulate within exhaust gases from various manufacturing processes. DDP, or optical scintillation as it sometimes referred to, measures the dynamic fluctuation in light transmission as dust particles move through a light beam. This dynamic fluctuation derives from temporal distributions of the dust particles which attenuate the light beam. The more dust present in the exhaust, the greater the amplitude of these fluctuations. DDP instruments calculate the dynamic response, or the ratio of light variation to light intensity, which for particular applications, is proportional to dust concentration and when calibrated against standard reference measurements, this can be presented as a reading in mg/m³.

    Emission control & air dedusting for fuel oil boilers

    For PM emission control in high temperature exhaust streams, such as fuel oil boilers, usual dedusters such as bag filters are very maintenance demanding. Particularly, diesel and fuel particulates are very sticky and clog to filter elements, unless protection reagents are used. Flue gas cooling is also needed in front of the filter when temperatures are higher than 200 ºC. On the other hand, regular cyclones and multicyclones are frequently not able to reduce emissions to present emission limits.

    Gas monitoring instruments and systems for engine emissions measurements

    The exhaust gas from combustion engines is a complex mixture of gases and particulate matter. The composition of the gas may change rapidly. Multicomponent analysis of exhaust gases can be performed with a Gasmet™ FTIR Gas Analyzer with a response time (T90) of one second. The winning combination is the result using of a small volume gas sample cell, a powerful sample pump and a fast detector with liquid nitrogen cooling. The analyzer, sampling system and computer can be assembled on a cart for use in a dynamometer laboratory, or the portable version can be used for roadside tests.

  • Emissions testing for engines

    Rich-burn engine exhaust, when uncontrolled, can have wide concentration ranges and both CO and NOX can fluctuate significantly. The on-board CO dilution system will automatically set-up for optimum testing, perfect for a rich burn engine. Lean-burn engines have different exhaust characteristics, but NO2 can make up a significant portion of the total NOX measurement. The 350 measures both NO and NO2 for proper lean-burn engine set-up. Due to high concentration, replaceable interference filters keep the sensors stable and your readings accurate. High exhaust pressures and heavy particulate loading are easily controlled with the special pressure relief valve (standard) on the engine probe configuration.
