Biodegradation tests involve testing samples in response to various parameters: dilution, nutrient addition, pH, temperature, and others. The pattern of oxygen uptake in aerobic tests; nitrogen gas production in anoxic denitrification tests; methane production in methanogenic tests; hydrogen production during glycolysis; and carbon dioxide production during fermentation reactions gives a measure of the rate and extent of biodegradation of the organic constituents of the test sample.
Hiden gas analysis systems provide for high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, real-time analysis of almost any gas and vapour. Hiden’s application specific gas analysis systems are tailored to meet the specific application requirements, and include a range of special sampling, vacuum pumping and vacuum accessories. Hot zone sampling accessories are included for evolved gas analysis from furnaces, and thermo gravimetric analysers, TGA, for example. Thermal analysis methods are vital for catalysis characterization....
“Biogas” means a mixture of various types of gas (mostly methane) produced by bacterial fermentation in anaerobic conditions(absence of oxygen) of organic residues from waste, decaying plant, carcasses in putrescence. The analyzers of biogas by Infrared cells carry out the continuous analysis of CH4, O2, CO2, H2S and NH3. The whole process sees the decomposition of organic material by some types of bacteria, producing carbon dioxide, molecular hydrogen and methane(methane conversion of organic compounds...
On-line Monitoring of Bioprocesses. PTR-MS systems can be used to gather highly relevant process related information in biopharmaceutical fermentations from analyzing volatile metabolites in the fermenters off-gas.
IONICON PTR-MS systems can analyze trace gas concentrations of volatile metabolites in the off-gas of bio-pharmaceutical fermentations in real-time. This highly relevant process related information can be used for on-line process monitoring and process control.
Dissolved Species Analysis
Dissolved species analysis employing Hiden's high sensitivity membrane sampling technology for analysis of respiratory gases, hydrocarbons and sulphides is applied to a wide range of application areas including:
Ecolological studies in sea water
Bio fuel production from algae
Pollution monitoring in river, estuary and reservoir waters
Soil core analyses
ASD’s NIR measurement solutions are ideal for the qualitative and quantitative agricultural analysis necessary throughout the entire production process, including process monitoring of fermentable sugars and enzymatic activities for increased product yield. The ability to analyze large numbers of samples simultaneously in real-time, continuously, and non-destructively, provides significant advantages in the manufacturing stage. The flexibility of ASD systems allows this at virtually any point in the processing...
