  • Phosphonate Testing in Hard Water

Testing phosphonates in hard water can be difficult due to interference from high levels of calcium. Here we present a phosphonate test method for hard water samples. The method is based on a chemical masking of the calcium. The WAT hard water phosphonate test uses C30 Spectrophotometer to measure the chromogen PMB and digital thermoreactor to digest the phosphonate compound. The thermoreactor capacity of 16 simultaneous vials provides for running critical data quality assurance samples.

Shredding solutions for hard discs (data destruction according to din 66399)

An interesting variant of hard disk shredding consists of the secure data destruction h5 which complies with the DIN 66399-2 requirements. Safe destruction makes it impossible to trace any data contained in hard disks, or similar data storage products, once the storage media has been destroyed. There are many international regulations concerning the safe destruction of documents. They set different destruction methods and levels of security to the required class of protection. This information can be found in...

  • Liquid Rock - Prevening Scale Formation from Ground Water Hardness

Groundwater is in contact with soil and rock minerals. Significant amounts of the minerals are dissolved in the groundwater. Elevated water hardness is the result of the water interaction and partial dissolution of carbonate minerals. Scale formation is a crystallisation process. Crystals are a highly organised arrangement of molecules. The determining circumstances for a successful crystallisation event include concentration, temperature, pressure and chemical environment. Suitable conditions for the formation...

    Identification of rubber

    INTRODUCTION

Rubber is a material that is widely used in all kinds of human activity. Rubber properties are modified by addition of chemical substances and ingredients causing physical and chemical modifications. The ingredients modify rubber hardness, durability and impact st rength; increase its resistance to wearing, oils, oxygen, solvents, heat, and cracking, which makes rubber more suitable for the use in various application areas.

Water treatment solutions for the Drinking water & water reuse sector

Water scarcity and the cost of water treatment has caused an increasing interest on water reuse for municipal and industrial reuse. Water treatment require mechanical filtration such as sand and anthracite filters to retain the particles that cause turbidity. Occasionally it is also necessary to reduce water hardness through ionic exchange or the adsortion of contaminants through the use of activated carbon. Our pressure vessels are suitable for any of type of filter media: sand, anthracite, silex, ionic...
