    Recycling of Incinerator Slag

Incinerator slag mainly consists of mineral components, metal scrap and other unburnt materials. With our separation systems we are able to treat both the untreated ash as well as the mixed and contaminated metal fraction. Out of both fraction we can recover a clean aluminum and a heavy metal fraction.

  • Incineration Industry Emissions Monitoring & Analysis

Monitoring of emissions from incinerators is a demanding application for Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems. The emissions produced are highly corrosive, some of the gases are soluble and, because the waste being burnt is constantly changing, the resulting stack gas temperature varies widely.

  • Continuous emission monitoring for municipal waste incineration

Local authorities incinerate domestic waste and other kinds of waste that typically include plastics, batteries and a diversity of unknown compounds. These may all produce acidic and other toxic emissions. Therefore, efficient flue-gas cleaning systems are needed to prevent their release into the environment.

  • Industrial Solution for incineration & thermal treatment

Waste incineration, including solid municipal and hazardous waste, biomedical waste and hazardous liquid are all continually under more stringent scrutiny by regulators. Macrotek has designed and supplied many integrated systems to meet most guidelines. In several installations, hazardous waste has been combined with radioactive waste, requiring nearly non-detectable emission levels for many of the contaminants. Macrotek has installed and tested systems for these processes with the results significantly better than required standards.

  • Measurement solution for to multi-stream by-pass system

A large pharmaceutical plant runs a Thermal Oxidiser on plant to incinerate their solvent-containing gas streams before emission. When the oxidiser is offline, then the plant must monitor the release of solvent to the atmosphere. A ProtIR 204C fixed monitoring system was installed that continually measures 24 plant solvents, including Acetone, Cyclohexane, DCM, DMF, IPA, MIBK, Toluene and THF. Given the high levels that are possible, the system has an active dilution system, reducing the concentration of the measured gas in the analyser to levels that can be analysed simply. Chemometric modelling enables interferences from the overlapping absorption spectra to be accounted for, ensuring accurate analysis of all 24 gases.

Industrial air pollution control for the recycling and waste management

Due to the continuous rise in the waste volumes worldwide it is essential constantly to seek alternatives to landfills and waste incineration: one suitable approach is bio-mechanical waste treatment. Apart from waste management, applications for air purification systems in this field range from soil remediation to sewage sludge drying in waste water treatment, as well as to the recycling of resources and their possible re-introduction.

Recycling sorting solutions for the ash recycling

Incinerated municipal solids and other waste streams results in a significant amount of ash residue, which often contains valuable metals. The amount of this remnant being created globally is rapidly increasing due to legislation which prohibits landfilling and creates new incentives for incineration. TOMRA Sorting sensor-based systems allow waste management businesses to capitalize on today’s challenges whilst simultaneously enabling them to look to the future with confidence.

  • Green waste handling in the office

Large amounts of waste are produced in offices; and a lot of it is made up of paper and incinerable waste that should be recycled as far as possible. A vacuum system from Envac can be used to handle this waste easily, and at the same time it adds other value.

  • Gas detection analyzers for pollution control

Government and environmental groups are forcing industries with medium to high VOC exhausts to reduce emissions by as much as 98%. Incineration using pollution control devices such as oxidizers and flare stacks is one way to bring the exhaust emissions in line with the regulations. Capturing and reusing solvent in a solvent recovery system is another way.

    HCl Monitoring in Air

Hydrogen chloride (HCl) is a colorless, sometimes slightly yellow, gas. It is an undesired environmental component that may be damaging to workers and the surroundings. Exposure limits have thus been established by industries to make sure that the workers operate in a safe environment. HCl monitoring is especially required for incinerators, coal-fired power plants, aluminum recycling and cement plants. Unisearch offers a reliable and easy-to-use HCl analyzer – the TDLAS-based LasIR system. Studies have shown that TDLAS equipment provides data that is more accurate than conventional gas monitoring equipment. When calibrated for HCl monitoring, TDLAS is able to detect this gas among other gases present in the area and provide continuous updates with regards to the changes in its concentration.
