The development of portable, robust, and accurate Lab-on-a-Chip systems to monitor priority compounds such as contaminants, explosives, chemical warfare agents, inorganic and organic ions is a demand of modern society. Portability allows analyses to be carried out outside of the laboratory, minimizing the risk of contaminating the sample and leading to a faster response time at a lower cost.

  • Odour Monitoring

    Measurement of odours from pulp & paper, feedlots and natural sources is challenging and requires careful selection of instrumentation. Ecotech offers a complete monitoring solution designed for this application. Odours are one of the most common sources of air pollution complaints and may be due to a wide variety of sources from rotting vegetation, animal feedlots, pulp and paper manufacturing, sewerage treatment facilities etc. The measurement of odours is extremely difficult due to the variety of sources of odour and the often very low ppb concentrations that produce odour.     Gas Detection Solutions for GHG Monitoring

    Most sources of fugitive emissions are from multiple points rather than single point sources. So, open path area or perimeter monitoring provides more meaningful fugitive emissions data than an array of point sensors or a program of grab sampling. Point measurements may underestimate emissions because of missing locations with high gas concentrations, or conversely overestimate because they are located in areas of high concentrations. Grab sampling programs typically check only a small percentage of potential leak locations and extrapolate results to an entire facility. Wide margins of uncertainty are associated with such extrapolations. Open path monitoring provides continuously updated, real-time, integrated emissions across a facility boundary.This provides a complete picture of the fugitive emissions across that boundary,enabling identification of specific operations and times that give rise to higher emissions, and so enabling these emissions to be properly managed and controlled.
