    Metal Sorting - Wire Recovery

Cable materials were often lost in the treatment and sorting processes available till now, which meant a financial loss due to the high proportion of copper they contain. New sorting technologies such as the FINDER are now capable of detecting these cables. Recently it has become possible to separate metals and copper cables. Previously, cable materials were often lost in the treatment and sorting process. This meant a financial loss due to the high proportion of copper they contain. New sorting technologies such as the FINDER and the FINDER [poly] are now capable of detecting these cables, transferring them to a metal product and then finally sorting them in a further step into a cable fraction of outstanding purity.

Metal Sorting - End of Life Vehicles Scrap Sorting

Using modern TOMRA sorting technology you can generate clean non-ferrous metal fractions in your daily shredder operation. The processing of valuable scrap metal gains more and more importance worldwide. The aim is to generate clean, mono-fraction products from this very complex stream of End of Life Vehicles scrap metal material using suitable separation procedures. And that is worthwhile; End of Life Vehicles scrap processing does not only preserve natural resources of raw material, but it is also considerably cheaper. Compared to the aluminium production from primary raw material, using secondary material from End of Life Vehicles saves around 90% of the energy demand.

Hazardous waste treatment solutions for metal industry

Sludge by-products from the metalworking industry have a high potential for recycling. Prolonged grinding processes can generate large amounts of highly valuable, alloy-rich sludge; consisting of metal powder and cooling lubricants. Inside our VacuDry system, the thermal separation of the liquids (hydrocarbons, eventually water) and solids (metal powder) takes place in an oxygen free atmosphere. This absence of oxygen ultimately eliminates material degradation by oxidation, and self-ignition or explosion risks. Operation under a low vacuum ensures the possibility to recover the cooling lubricants for later reuse. After the thermal treatment, for appropriate handling in the melting process, the metal powder is pressed into briquettes. With the econ VacuDry technology, 100% recycling of all ingredients is possible.

  • Industrial Meshes for Distillation

In the demanding applications in distillation technology, i.e. the separation of high-molecular compounds, SolidWEAVE metal meshes are applied in structured mesh packs. Wire mesh packs with GKD filter meshes make delicate separation processes possible with low temperatures and short residence time – keyfactors for distillation process reliability.

  • Industrial water Nickel & Cobalt purification

Cobalt is a brittle, hard transition metal with magnetic properties similar to iron. It is mainly used as an alloy with iron, nickel or other metals to produce corrosion and wear resistant products for high temperature applications (such as jet engines, gas turbines, etc.). Cobalt is normally produced as a by-product of nickel or copper mining. The purity requirements for Cobalt do not allow nickel to exceed a concentration 0.1%. Earlier, the nickel was removed by lime precipitations, but as the market specifications became more stringent, ion exchange technologies have been applied.

Industrial shredders system for metal shredding sector

Metal swarf is valuable and heavy, and often voluminous; Three reasons to separate them into their components. Transportation becomes more efficient with reduced volume where it can then be reprocessed and transformed into cash. With WEIMA technology it is possible to shred all kinds of light metals to include aluminum or magnesium, also copper and brass. Irrespective of profile; tin, foil, long swarf or punching waste.

Reliable Shredding Technology for Pulper Ropes

In addition to a homogenised granulate of your residual products, our customized shredding systems guarantee an optimal pre-product for further recycling or thermal utilisation in your plants. Pulper ropes or the reject are secondary raw materials that are created when waste paper is recycled. The pulper ropes must not be landfilled due to their material composition and must therefore be recycled accordingly – in most cases through shredding and subsequent separation of metals, glass and stones, etc. Our rotary shears or 2-shaft shredders together with our 4-shaft technology are very well suited for this application case. The advantage of the 4-shaft machines lies in the fact that the pre- and re-shredding occurs in one process step.

Reliable Shredding Technology for Electronic Scrap

Our customized solutions enable you to efficiently shred electronic scrap in your recycling facility and they align perfectly with your recycling system. The granulate size is adjusted such that metals and non-metals can be separated and recycled as best as possible. More than 40 million tons of electrical and electronic scrap are generated annually – and the trend is growing dramatically! Recycling electronic devices is not just beneficial for environmental reasons. This scrap, as a rule, contains many precious metals that are recovered during the recycling process. To ensure a high yield during the recovery process, the shredding should generate only a very low amount of fine particles.
