    The Model 8900 Methane/Non-Methane Analyzer provides direct measurement of Methane and Non-Methane Hydrocarbons. This instrument is utilized in ambient air monitoring networks around metropolitan areas, fence-line monitoring at industrial plants and hazardous waste sites, and in the production of high purity industrial gases. Methane is a naturally occurring gas generated from the decomposition of biological materials and industrial activity. Since Methane is not considered a pollutant it is the Non-Methane hydrocarbons that are of primary concern.

  • Measurement of oil content of oil bearing algae used for biofuel production

    We assist the rapidly growing global biofuels industry through our MQC analysers, speeding up analyses by up to 250 times, and dispensing with the need for hazardous solvents and skilled operators required for traditional methods such as soxhlet extraction and chromatography. Benchtop, non-destructive single seed analysers enable seed breeders to select the highest oil bearing single seeds, accelerating the breeding of high oil bearing seeds for biofuel purposes by up to five years. Typical seeds are Jatropha and Camelina; our breadth of applications capability allows almost all seeds to be characterised. Benchtop seed analysers allow seed co-operatives and biofuel crushers/processors rapidly and accurately to measure the oil and moisture content of biofuel seeds. This enables farmers to be paid according to oil content, and crushing/oil processing to be optimised for the oil and moisture content to achieve the highest quality biofuel output.

  • Using NMR to determine pore throat distribution & wettability

    Having obtained a Pc curve, pore throat distributions can now be calculated using the Washburn equations. The imbibition and secondary drainage curves generated by the NMR Pc measurement also allow USBM wettability to be predicted. Both of these calculations are integrated into the software, and follow as a natural consequence of the NMR Pc data. A further added advantage is that the NMR measurement is non-destructive and can use reservoir fluids and reservoir wettability.
