    In pilot plant and production scale fermentors, information relating to yield of product is of high importance. Hiden's gas analysers are configured with a multiport Off-Gas analysis manifold enabling simultaneous sampling from multiple fermentors. Data is used for the calculation of the respiratory quotient, carbon production rate and oxygen uptake rate. The Off-Gas measurement provides the respiratory quotient in a time and space averaged form and with good response time. By comparison data from multiple dissolved species probes are more specific and can provide information about stirring efficiency, aeration and feed distribution within the fermentor. Dissolved gas measurements have the advantage of giving direct information on gas uptake and for dissolved output rates.     For shredding OTR (Off-The-Road) tyres up to 51″, SatrindTech proposes two-shaft shredders, suitable to a volume reduction of the material. Before proceeding with the shredding phase, it is essential, however, to remove the two central rings of the tyre with a hydraulic debeader and, subsequently, to slice the tire with a hydraulic shrear so to get pieces with a proper size for being introduced in the shredder hopper.     The sour (H2S) content of hydrocarbon fields worldwide is increasing, and many natural gas fields have very high H2S – sometimes in excess of 50%. H2S is extremely dangerous because, although people can smell it at low levels (about 5 ppb) it does not smell much worse at the exposure limit value of 10 ppm or at potentially fatal levels in excess of 100 ppm. Therefore smell is an unreliable means of determining dangerous levels. Existing H2S point sensors are maintenance intensive, slow to respond and provide limited coverage. Most H2S sensors do not work reliably in hot or cold weather, or in humid marine environments.
