  • Gas detection analyzers for processing ovens & dryers

Many industries are involved in coating products with solvent-borne materials and then employing ovens or dryers to remove the solvents from the finished product. The key hazard is an explosion from the build up of solvent vapors in the oven or dryer atmosphere. This buildup could occur by a malfunction in the production process such as: a sudden or improper amount of coating, a change in ventilation controls or excessive speed. In any of these cases, the concentration of flammable vapor has an opportunity to rise above safe levels, creating a potentially explosive mixture of vapor in air.

    VOCs gas leak detection

An oil refinery or petroleum refinery is an industrial process plant where crude oil is processed and refined into more useful petroleum products, such as naphtha, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt base, heating oil, kerosene, etc,. Oil refineries are typically large, sprawling industrial complexes with extensive piping running throughout, carrying streams of fluids between large chemical processing units. The refining process releases a number of different chemicals into the atmosphere mostly Hydrocarbons which cause severe health and safety hazards. Opgal`s EyeCGas Thermal Imager can detect the leaking gases from a distance and help reducing the threat

  • Gas detection analyzers for semiconductor industry

Semiconductor manufacturing facilities employ a number of hazardous gases in their production processes. Whenever these gases are stored, distributed or used in manufacturing processes, there exists the potential for a hazardous condition. The primary hazards associated with these gases include fire, explosion, and contamination resulting in product loss or unscheduled preventative maintenance. These gases must be continuously monitored to ensure the health and safety of employees, to protect property, as well as to maintain regulatory compliance. Continuous gas monitoring in semiconductor facilities is a requirement of local and state regulations.

Gas Detection Solutions for Gold Refining

Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) is a highly toxic compound that is a byproduct of many industrial processes. Existing HCN point sensors are maintenance intensive, slow to respond and provide limited coverage. Many HCN sensors do not work reliably in hot or cold weather, or in humid environments. Our technology can be used for fixed monitoring applications or for temporary protection of workers during construction projects.

  • Gas detection for the winery and brewery Industry

Once an archetypal example of manual production, the winery and brewery industries now incorporate sophisticated processes to ensure high quality levels and efficient output. In some cases traditional approaches have simply been scaled up or put under more stringent monitoring, whilst in others innovations such as nitrogen-pressurised canning have been introduced. However, whichever approach has been followed there is also a growing realisation of the gas hazards that are associated with both new and old processes, and the need to protect workers from toxic gas exposure and asphyxiation risks.

  • Gas detection analyzers for coil coating industry

Coil Coating is a high-temperature solvent vapor monitoring application in which rolls of aluminum or steel are coated with a color finish, oven cured to desired specs and sold to makers of cans, rain gutters, home appliances, building & automotive products and other fabrications. Coil coating requires the use of our PrevEx Flammability Analyzers to monitor the flammability of the solvent vapor driven off during the drying process. PrevEx analyzers accurately measure solvent mixtures and can withstand the temperatures required to prevent sample clogging in coil coating plants.

Gas Detection Solutions for Liquified Natural Gas Detection

Liquefied natural gas owners require improved routine monitoring of facilities for safety, economic and regulatory reasons. Leaking LNG can cause explosions leading to loss of life and property. Loss of product through undetected leaks dramatically reduces a pipeline operator’s profitability. Traditional gas detectors are slow to reach and require a labour intensive process to keep maintained. IR detectors have been used but with limited success because of cross interference from other atmospheric gases.

Gas Detection Solutions for Hydrogen Fluoride (HF) Safety

Hydrogen Fluoride (HF) is a very useful chemical used in a variety of industries. However, HF is highly toxic with potential fatal consequences with exposure to humans, so facilities that make or use HF should exercise great care. Nevertheless, there is always the risk of leaks from process elements such as valves, pump seals and storage vessels. Tanker loading, transporting and unloading operations also provide opportunity for HF releases. Industrial processes that make or use HF typically have arrays of point sensors distributed throughout the unit. However, these sensors are maintenance intensive and have relatively slow response times. In addition, a point sensor will not detect an HF release unless it is located directly in the area of that release. Electrochemical HF sensors also respond to chlorine, ammonia, and sulfur dioxide, resulting in false alarms.

Gas analysis & monitoring system for leak searching

Many chemical compounds and gas are invisible to the naked eye. But there are many companies that make intensive use both during and after the production process. The manner and frequency with which companies are required to monitor, document, report and rectify any escape of volatile gaseous compounds are established by regulations extremely rigid. The technology most widely used is the “Imaging Camera” or “sniffer technology.” “When we look for gas leaks, check all systems in places that may or may not have been previously identified. These controls are carried out regularly and are very important after a shutdown.

  • Gas detection analyzers for wastewater treatment industry

Regulations prohibit facilities from discharging flammable or explosive wastes from their processes into the wastewater collection system. These wastes are not only a fire and explosion hazard but they can also effect the efficient and effective operation of the treatment facility. PrevEx Flammability analyzers are used to continuously monitor the waste stream for flammable gases and vapors. Their unique design and operating technology make them the ideal analyzers for the harsh conditions found in the sewer environment.

  • Gas detection analyzers for pulp & paper mills

Flammable non-condensible gases (NCG’s) are byproducts of the wood pulping process. Health and pollution regulations prohibit the release of these gases into the atmosphere. They are usually eliminated by passing them through an incinerator or by using them as fuel in the burner of a boiler or kiln. The incinerator, boiler or kiln however can be damaged by NCG’s which have built up explosive levels. Pulp mills require the use of our PrevEx Flammability Analyzers to monitor the NCG stream and detect and divert these dangerous concentrations before they can cause damage and shut down the mill. The PrevEx analyzers accurately measure the total concentration of flammable gases present in the NCG sample. Their high sampling speed dramatically improves response time—an important factor in pulp mill applications.
