Dewatering and thickening of municipal sewage sludge

Dewatering and Thickening of Municipal Sewage Sludge using the Decanter. Flottweg has more than 50 years of experience in dewatering and thickening sewage slurry. We know the special requirements of sewage treatment plants and the water industry. As a result, we have developed a special decanter series especially for sewage treatment plants: the Flottweg C series.

    Sludge Dewatering

The waste-sludge generated by primary and secondary (biological) treatment of municipal & industrial wastewater needs to be managed at every plant big or small. In the larger sewage treatment facilities waste sludge thickening and dewatering has always been assumed a necessity without the planners and designers thinking twice about the cost requirements. In the smaller and decentralized STP’s where available investment is always lower, the on-site waste-sludge management (thickening & dewatering) maybe compromised due to the high cost of investment, largely due to the comparative high cost of facilities (building, equipment, piping, auxiliaries, etc). The DEVISE “Containerized Sludge Dewatering Plant” (CSDP) provides a first class solution for the small STP’s at a reasonable cost and most importantly it comes in a fully automated package unit that is ready to “plug & play”.

Filtration technology for Industrial wastewater treatment

AQQA is used in industrial wastewater treatment to: separate the sludge from the clear water in membrane bio reactors. constitute the final filtration of the effluent of standard sewage treatment plants (tertiary treatment). keep specialized bacteria in the system, that can biologically degrade organic matter. enable Zero Liquid Discharge: prefiltration for reverse osmosis systems.

  • Absolute separation for the environment sector

VITONE ECO decanters, together with all auxiliary machinery such as polypreparers, removal dewatered sludge screws, pumps, etcetera, are meant for the following uses: dehydration and thickening of sewage from civil and industrial purification plants; dehydration of vegetable biomasses and zootechnical sludge; waste water treatment for distilleries and fellmongering waste.

  • Automated solutions for the aeration lagoon / pond dredging

LWT`s dredging systems are used for aeration lagoon / pond dredging applications. A dredging system for removal and disposal of raw sewage solids, decayed algae and microorganisms, and algae-laden sludge results in a long term solution for treatment plants. Aeration lagoon / pond dredging increases lagoon storage volume, provides improved detention time, and accommodates increased plant flow.

  • Waste water respirometry solutions for toxicity tracking

If toxicity is identified in a mixed sewage entering a treatment works, the problem for the plant manager is to track and identify the source of the toxicity. This can be done by sampling the effluent stream at various points in its length. By working in a logical sequence back up the sewer network the number of samples can be minimised. This type of testing should be rigorously enforced for new product introduction by a waste producer, as well as sampling the effluents directly at source. The samples would be tested against the activated sludge of the receiving works, using the Respiration Inhibition Test or the Nitrification Inhibition Test.
