    Recycling and separation of shredder light fraction

    Ad Rem`s main focus is currently on the processing, reuse and recycling of Shredder Light Fraction. Currently shredder light fraction is already being processed at Group Galloo with the Ad Rem equipment. With the enormous experience in house on this subject,  Ad Rem is currently designing a complete new recycling facility for Group Galloo. This new facility will be specialized in treating Shredder Light Fraction. This installation is full of new exiting technologies and hopes to set the standards for the next coming years.

    Recycling and processing of shredder heavy fraction

    Since 1991, the bi-directional dense medium separation technology for the recycling of automobile and industrial wastes is being used. For many years a principle client in this regard has been the Group Galloo.  Group Galloo owns currently 50% of the AD REM shares. At first the Galloo staff was not convinced that a carrot separator could compete with the classical dense medium separators on the market at that time. So they set up a trial on +12 mm automobile shredder residue, running half of the test material through a conventional drum and the other half through this modified bi-directional carrot separator.

    Recycling equipments for shredder light fraction (SLF) recycling

    Dismantled ELVs (End of Life Vehicles) are sold to shredder operators and are reduced to fist-size pieces by large rotating hammer mills. The Shredder Light Fraction (SLF) is removed from the stream by suction, the intensity of which determines the amount and composition of the SLF. SLF consists essentially of plastics/rubber (~60%), Glass/sand i.e. mineral substances (~15%), Textiles/leather/wood (~10%), Paint dust/rust (~10%) and Residual metals (~5%). Other names for SLF are ASR (Automobile Shredder Residue) and Auto fluff or just fluff.

    Metal Sorting - Non Ferrous Metals Sorting

    Modern sensor-based sorting systems are superior to traditional manual or sink-float processes for reasons including that they achieve material purities of up to 99.9% in refining the sorted fractions. TOMRA Sorting’s efficient sorting and recycling technology provides benefits for shredder machinery and heavy media operators, plus aluminum resmelters. Shredder operators can create individual fractions out of mixed product which yield much higher market values. Heavy media operators can produce and sell pure final products themselves, meaning their investment in technology is recouped quickly. After wet processing, the aluminum product still contains impurities and its concentration can be improved further using TITECH technology and sold for a considerably higher profit. For smelters, the TITECH x-tract [XRT] removes impurities in the secondary resource to such a high degree of precision that less primary resource is needed to obtain useful aluminum.
