soil stabilization erosion Applications

  • Erosion control solutions for the waterway & shoreline stabilization

Stream banks and shorelines can present far-reaching erosion and sediment control challenges. Variable flow conditions and shoreline shear stresses must be considered as well as the effects of flooding, runoff and topography. The need to protect water quality plus aquatic and wildlife habitats can be critical. No matter what erosion control problems and other issues are part of your project, you can be sure we have a solution that works. Whether your shoreline or stream bank project is simple or demanding, and whether it requires temporary and/or permanent erosion control solutions, you can rely on North American Green`s RollMax Rolled Erosion Control Systems and RevetMax Flexible Revetment Systems for durable protection, stabilization and reinforcement.

  • Premium

Flood defense systems for Erosion control

Because of the soil filled nature of our barriers and the ability to achieve a variety of vertical or pyramid stacked configurations, we have a number of erosion control applications we are commonly used for. Applications include: Soil stabilization, Retaining walls (can be self-anchored with 90 degree tie-ins), Riverbank protection, Toe protection, Wetland restoration, Beach protection.

  • Environmental protection solutions for the recreational trails

Finding economical and low-maintenance solutions to stabilize trails and greenways to protect against surface wear and erosion can be difficult.  It is even more challenging in poor soils or environmentally-sensitive areas where minimal disturbance is desired.  Presto Geosystem’s solutions meet these challenges by offering long-term stability, permeability, and low environmental impact options for pedestrian, equestrian, bicycle, ATV and other vehicle access.  The Geosystems’ solution-set is ideal to shore up land adjacent to trails—including retaining walls, slope stabilization and drainage channels.

  • Railway slope & ballast reinforcement solutions for the railroad sector

The GEOWEB system is the ‘go to’ solution for challenging soil stability problems for both new construction and repair work. The GEOWEB 3D system is a versatile solution for ballast reinforcement, yard stabilization and erosion protection of embankments and stormwater channels, offering a more economical solution than geogrids or other 2D solutions - especially in soft soil environments and in heavy, repeated loading areas.

  • Posi-Shell Coatings

Posi-Shell erosion control coatings are the perfect low-cost solution to protect and stabilize slopes. Our long-term coatings are spray-applied and allow engineers or operators to protect acres (hectares) of slope in a single day. The finished coating is durable and textured, reducing water energy across large areas. The final product eliminates erosion, siltation, and (as a result) expensive rework. The product can be designed to last for years and is easily tracked into slopes when intermediate protection is no longer necessary. Indeed, when integrated, Posi-Shell actually improves soil quality by conditioning it for future seeding. Posi-Shell’s simplicity and durability make it tremendously effective at controlling windblown dust, infiltration, or runoff associated with clean or contaminated stockpiles. Unlike cumbersome tarps or geo-membranes, Posi-Shell erosion control coatings are spray applied and do not require any ballast. Posi-Shell conforms and adheres to any topography and delivers 100% clean runoff. Stockpile loading or removal is accomplished by breaking into the coating where desired. Active areas may be left open or quickly resealed if required. Posi-Shell erosion control coatings are ideal for protecting expensive piles of salt, coal, or cement clinker; and are used extensively for containing hazardous or radioactive soils.
