  • Landfill lining

GCLs have become the gold standard clay component of composite lining systems used in industrial, hazardous and municipal solid waste landfills. Used alone or in combination with a geomembrane in a composite cover system, GCLs provide significantly lower permeability, improved ease of installation, an increased amount of usable space. In many cases GCLs are more cost-effective than traditional compacted clay liners. GCLs are also not subject to deterioration from differential settlement and freeze-thaw cycles, which can damage traditional compacted clay liners. Important design considerations for GCLs in landfill caps include confining pressure, and potential for ion exchange and desiccation.

    Odors control for solid waste

A solid solution for solid waste odors. All areas of solid waste handling are, by nature, odorous affairs. Municipal sludge, municipal solid waste, landfills, composting and co-composting facilities all generate odors that can be offensive to workers and the community at large. The process is a complex one, with multiple drops, collections, transfers and sortings of recyclable and non-recyclable material. Combustible materials are then incinerated for energy production.

Recycling equipments for shredding solid waste & municipal solid waste

Solid waste and municipal solid waste (MSW) size reduction requires processing of many different materials, from filled drums to household waste. And, as the amount of solid waste increases and the cost of landfill management increases, it is becoming more critical that waste management become more effective, economic and efficient. Shredded and compacted waste is easier and cheaper to transport and extends the life of the landfill. In addition, separating out materials that can be reclaimed and recycled or that need to be incinerated or composted increases the landfill productivity while providing revenue to offset the costs of processing the solid waste.

    Mixed Municipal Solid Waste Sorting

Traditional (manual) or semi-automated techniques, however, are only able to recover low levels of separate materials from mixed municipal waste streams and mean considerable content going to landfill. In contrast, TOMRA Sorting’s fully automated, state-of-the-art, sensor-based municipal sorting systems convert complex and varied - even dirty - municipal solid waste streams into high quality, separated, marketable output. The systems also make manual sorting unnecessary, thus reducing labor costs and material loss, while increasing efficiency. Operationally, through using detection techniques such as near infrared (NIR), x-ray transmission (XRT), color line cameras and metal sensors in combination.

Shredding systems for a wide variety of solid waste

Landfill: Matress Shrdding ImageWe have engineered many solutions for landfill operations. We`ve built shredding systems to reduce material prior to compaction for transfer. We`ve built onsite shredders for use at landfill sites. In each case, shredding greatly improves the efficiency of the transported waste and extends the capacity and life of the landfill.

Recycling Systems for the municipal solid waste processing sector

MACPRESSE products revolutionized the way the solid waste is transferred and processed.Used in different environments, our machines innovate and optimize the traditional process of waste disposal. In fact, different materials such as municpal solid waste is treated and compacted before transferring them from the transfer stations to landfill sites. This way, there’s no risk of land contamination and bad-smelling liquid formation – attracting vermin –when waste is not pre-treated ,collected in transfer stations and delivered to landfill sites.

  • RDF

RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) is made from domestic waste which includes biodegradable material as well as plastics, and has a lower calorific value than SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel). RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) is used in combined heat and power facilities, many of them in Europe where they produce electricity and hot water for communal heating systems in the local area. Compared to landfilling, the lower carbon emissions resulting from RDF manufacture outweigh the emissions associated with transporting the reclaimed fuel. The increasing importance of Waste to Energy/RDF Waste to energy conversion is an increasingly recognised approach to resolving two issues: waste management and sustainable energy. Waste represents an increasingly important fuel source. Using waste as fuel can have important environmental benefits. It can not only provide a safe and cost-effective way of waste disposal but can also help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. https://the-mkgroup.com/portfolio/rdf-manufacture/

  • Odour and corrosion treatment solutions for wastewater treatment industry

Odour emissions form a serious problem for many people that live near or work in places which produce odours. These places can be factories, wastewater treatment plants, farms like pig and poultry breeders, solid waste disposal facilities and landfills. As some odourous compounds can be harmful for the health of humans other are simply unpleasant and can cause health problems when exposed to on a continuous basis. In either case something needs to be done about it.
