    Analytical instruments for atomic spectroscopy

Besides Mass Spectrometry, a further variety of analysis techniques are categorized as atomic spectroscopy. Analysis techniques which use inductively coupled plasma (ICP), such as ICP-OES and ICP-MS, are among these. With increasing environmental awareness backed by regulations, an increasingly important use of atomic spectroscopy techniques is in mercury analysis. Achieving a high mass flow control performance, e.g. high repeatability or an excellent turn-down ratio, is a prerequisite to achieve a high analyzer performance. For this, a number of Axetris customers rely on our products while designing such systems.

Chromatography laboratory instrumentation for food & beverage

Effective measures against food fraud, efficient and healthy food processing and the development of functional food and neutraceuticals are just few of many challenges in modern F&B production and analysis. BUCHI offers classical reference methods and near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) for food analysis, but also visualization of production processes using spray drying and encapsulation.

    Analytical instruments for mass spectrometry

A variety of MS techniques – such as Quadrupole MS, Time-of-Flight (TOF) MS, Ion Mobility Spectroscopy (IMS), etc. have been developed in the past decades, providing new tools for materials analyses. Flow control for mass spectrometry (MS) requires high repeatability and small temperature- and pressure dependency. This is important to achieve a high resolution and instrument resolution. Depending on the size and electrical interface requirements, the Axetris MFC modules or MFC standalone types are the ideal choices for MS applications.

DETERMINATION OF FATTY ACID METHYL ESTER (FAME) CONTENT IN DIESEL FUEL OR DOMESTIC HEATING FUEL BY MID-IR SPECTROSCOPY

Presence of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) in diesel fuel or domestic heating fuel (both hereinafter referred to as diesel fuel) is a signal of blending with biodiesel. The control of FAME content in diesel fuel is an essential and actual task because of the need of the right fuel identification and registration of possible FAME impact on engines and fuel systems. To control the compliance one of the most accurate, rapid and simple methods is EN 14078:2014. Lumex Instruments provides user-friendly analytical solution for EN 14078:2014 implementation using FTIR spectrometer InfraLUM FT-08 and powerful SpectraLUM software package. The method is based on measuring the transmission spectra of a sample of diesel fuel in the mid-IR spectral range. Consequent calculation of the FAME concentration is performed by InfraLUM software automatically by comparison of peak height against a calibration curve.
