Sustainable solutions for transportation & logistics industry

The amount of material flow is increasing rapidly worldwide and therefore, the volume of traffic as well. Currently, the traffic is one of the factors which cause the most greenhouse gas emissions. In Europe, it is the only sector whose greenhouse gas emissions are significantly increasing instead of decreasing. The big challenge of the industry is to handle the increasing amount of material flow and to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions and consumption of resources at the same time.  Additionally, there exist other challenges on local scale, such as pollution burden, which can be enforced through a growing urbanisation.

Sustainable solutions for oil & gas industry

Protecting Earth’s environment is becoming increasingly difficult as the development of emerging economies and industrial growth continue to accelerate and draw more demand for energy resources. At the same time increased legislation, consumer preference for greener energy and competition increasingly drive the need for more sustainable extraction, processing, transport and use of conventional energy resources. None more so is this true than for the Oil and Gas producers who must now develop strategies and practices to enhance their sustainability performance, economic position and social standing.

  • Erosion & sediment control solutions for water remediation

`Water should never be treated as a nonrenewable resource; it should always be treated with the respect it deserves as the foundation of life on the planet.` Most water on earth is in a continuous cycle between water bodies, land and the atmosphere. An important component of smart water solutions is the cycling of water treatment solutions using processes by which water enters, moves through and exits soil are essential for sustaining plants and soil organisms, transporting nutrients and recharging surface and ground water supplies. Water moving in soil also impacts the behavior and transport of soil solutes and their effect on water quality.

  • RDF

RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) is made from domestic waste which includes biodegradable material as well as plastics, and has a lower calorific value than SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel). RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) is used in combined heat and power facilities, many of them in Europe where they produce electricity and hot water for communal heating systems in the local area. Compared to landfilling, the lower carbon emissions resulting from RDF manufacture outweigh the emissions associated with transporting the reclaimed fuel. The increasing importance of Waste to Energy/RDF Waste to energy conversion is an increasingly recognised approach to resolving two issues: waste management and sustainable energy. Waste represents an increasingly important fuel source. Using waste as fuel can have important environmental benefits. It can not only provide a safe and cost-effective way of waste disposal but can also help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. https://the-mkgroup.com/portfolio/rdf-manufacture/
