    Turbidity is a measure of the loss of light transmittance through a liquid due to suspended particles. The more particles in the water, the murkier it looks or the higher the turbidity. This is a measure of the quality of the water. It is measured in units called Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU). Turbidity can be caused by run off after a heavy rain as erosion washes soil into a river or lake.     Docupak LLC, a full service marketing company headquartered in Alabaster, Alabama, has reduced chemical usage by a third and removed all scale from its cooling tower at its plant after installing the patented, award-winning Scalewatcher computerized, electronic water-conditioner from Scalewatcher North America. In addition there are no longer signs of algae growth on the cooling tower louvres.
