  • Recycling Systems for the municipal solid waste processing sector

MACPRESSE products revolutionized the way the solid waste is transferred and processed.Used in different environments, our machines innovate and optimize the traditional process of waste disposal. In fact, different materials such as municpal solid waste is treated and compacted before transferring them from the transfer stations to landfill sites. This way, there’s no risk of land contamination and bad-smelling liquid formation – attracting vermin –when waste is not pre-treated ,collected in transfer stations and delivered to landfill sites.

    Processing of LCD screens

The safe extraction of valuable raw materials: robots automatically dismantle monitors containing mercury, while protecting workers’ health at the same time. According to initial projections, around three million LCD screens will be recycled in Germany in 2016. However, their backlighting system often contains mercury, which means they are classified as 'hazardous waste' in accordance with the EWC, and as 'Collection Group 3' in accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Appliance Law. They also contain valuable raw materials, such as metals and plastics, which have to be recovered in such a way, that the environment is not harmed. However, recycling specialists, Erdwich Zerkleinerungssysteme GmbH, have now developed an alternative: The company from Kaufering has developed an automatic processing system that enables mercury and other valuable raw materials to be easily extracted and recycled in an environmentally-friendly way.

    Packaging Sorting

Packaging waste is mostly made up of different polymers, beverage cartons, paper and glass. Depending on the country in question, different collection systems apply and the material will invariably arrive in different conditions to the MRF’s (Materials Recovery Facility). However, this does not present us with a problem. At TOMRA Sorting, regardless of the collection system operated, we are able to optimally sort the valuable fractions with high efficiency and purity. We currently operate sorting units at packaging MRF’s in many countries including Belgium, Canada, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, UK and USA.

  • Classification and identification of recyclable material

This level is expected to reach over 4 million tons by 2010. Companies that specialize in recycling carpet require a fast, reliable and accurate means of identifying the carpet face fiber type entering recycling streams. Collection of plastics for recycling is increasing rapidly. Plastic recycling faces one huge problem, plastic types must not be mixed for recycling. Even a small amount of the wrong type of plastic can ruin the melt. Whether it is a carpet or plastic, classification and identification of recyclable material can be achieved using Bruker Optics` state of the art spectrometer systems. Bruker Optics has applied the FT-NIR technology and experience to this demanding requirement, and offers the Carpet Analyzer as a dedicated solution for the recycling industry.

  • Remote temperature monitoring

To abide local regulations, and ensure efficient and effective composting, the temperatures of the windrows must be measured and logged constantly. With accurate temperature measurements, you can determine the optimum time to turn the windrows for quicker compost production. Time consuming and error prone manual data collection is eliminated using a SureCross FlexPower Node equipped with three thermocouples to automatically monitor the temperature at three depths within a compost windrow. Temperature sensor readings are wirelessly transmitted back to the Gateway or host system for data collection, analysis, and logging. Because the temperatures are measured and recorded continuously, the composting rows can be turned as soon as the temperature reaches the ideal point. Continuously monitoring the temperature will also provide an early warning to potential fire hazards by notifying personnel when temperatures exceed recommended ranges, thereby preserving the product.

Disposal and Cleaning Equipment for Waste Water Industy

Drinking water is not the only area requiring flow monitoring. The disposal and cleaning of waste water also requires flow meters. Waste water used to be dumped directly into the soil or an open channel. As awareness has increased, most discharges are now treated to assure long term sustainability. Modern water treatment plants are highly complex systems that require the use of flow sensors to monitor flow velocity in open channels for waste water discharge. Likewise facilities for waste water collection and clarification plants need regular data on flow rate. The use of radar non contact flow measurement and ultrasonic doppler flow meters are particularly efficient. HydroVision can complete flow measurements in all of these areas.

  • Waste handling in flight catering kitchens

Large catering kitchens at airports are operational more or less round the clock. They have to deal with enormous amounts of waste from incoming aircraft, food preparation kitchens and staff canteens. Compared with traditional manual refuse collection methods, an automated kitchen waste system is safer, more efficient, more hygienic – and cheaper in the long run.

Metal Sorting - Electronic Scrap Sorting

The recycling of disused and obsolete electrical and electronic equipment is gaining more and more importance world-wide. Waste electrical equipment is an incredibly rewarding source of raw materials. In Waste electrical equipment, up to hundreds of times more precious metals can be found per ton of material than in the primary source of raw material, ore. The goal for TITECH and the industry as a whole is to utilise electronic scrap recycling and sort out pollutants on one hand and profitable components in high purity on the other. For electronic recycling purposes, the EU classifies W??? into 10 categories. After separate collection of TVs, fridges and so on, they are processed and sorted in electronic scrap recycling systems. The average content of thus gained materials is as follows: metals (50%), plastics (30%), glass (10%) and other materials (10%).

    Fly Ash - Industrial Vacuum

Fly Ash can cause many problems. The Vac-Con & Vector Pneumatic Vacuum systems can assist and solve many of these problems. Our high-performance vacuum systems are manufactured in three basic configurations: Truck mounted, Trailer mounted, and Fixed/static installed. Any of these systems can be integrated into the existing power plant design. All of our vacuum systems can be utilized to solve your plant’s fly ash removal/clean-up needs and can assist in many other maintenance projects. All can be tailored to fit into your power plant’s specific needs. Vac-Con Truck mounted Industrial vacuum systems are equipped with large storage debris tanks with self-cleaning intake filter systems. The Industrial Trucks vacuum the waste products through existing manifold piping or with hoses attached directly to the debris tank. When fully loaded, the truck can then drive directly to the disposal site and discharge the waste products. The Industrial Truck offers a great amount of flexibility of operation and can be utilized anywhere in your facility for many different types of normal and emergency maintenance operations. The Vac-Con Industrial Vacuum Truck can be utilized on both wet and dry materials. The same Vac-Con truck can be used for removing Fly Ash from your plant, coal from broken intake belt conveyors, or used to suck wet muddy material from storage lagoons. The Vector Trailer mounted Vacuum Systems are designed to be used in several locations around power plants. The Trailer mounted Vacuum Systems connect to Manifold piping located in key areas within your power plant. The Vacuum systems move the waste products from the plant and deposit these products into moveable storage containers. The loaded storage containers when full can then be moved to the disposal sites for discharge. Vector Static Mounted Vacuum systems are designed to vacuum and remove Fly Ash and other bulk waste products through manifold piping from operational areas of the plant and deposit these waste products into collection storage silos for later transport to disposal sites. The fixed vacuum systems are electric motor driven and are normally installed as a permanent addition to in-plant existing conveying systems. Please contact us with any requirements you may have. We will evaluate your request and respond with solutions specific to solve your problems and fit your needs.
