Precision moisture analysis instruments for rapid moisture analysis for plastics

Reduce rejected product and wasted material. Nozzle drool. Impaired physical properties. Silver streaks and other cosmetic blemishes. If the moisture content in a resin is too high at processing time, you’re likely to end up with a costly, unusable mess. And as the materials science behind plastics continues to improve, resulting in stronger, lighter, and more durable resins, accurate moisture measurement and control will only become more critical. A moisture analyzer is an indispensable piece of equipment for injection molders, blow molders and extruders.

Reliable Shredding Technology for Hospital Waste

Our hazardous waste shredders are perfectly suited for the chemically aggressive material in your hospital waste. After the shredding process, the material can be optimally utilised thermally or disposed of together with municipal solid waste once it has been sterilised. The shredding is so effective that the granulate does not give any indications of the source material. Hospital waste consists of very different types of waste and requires special treatment during disposal due to the presence of infectious and highly contaminated materials. Depending on the waste type or classification, the hospital itself might need to specially treat the waste or store it in dedicated plastic containers or drums on-site.

    Processing of LCD screens

The safe extraction of valuable raw materials: robots automatically dismantle monitors containing mercury, while protecting workers’ health at the same time. According to initial projections, around three million LCD screens will be recycled in Germany in 2016. However, their backlighting system often contains mercury, which means they are classified as 'hazardous waste' in accordance with the EWC, and as 'Collection Group 3' in accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Appliance Law. They also contain valuable raw materials, such as metals and plastics, which have to be recovered in such a way, that the environment is not harmed. However, recycling specialists, Erdwich Zerkleinerungssysteme GmbH, have now developed an alternative: The company from Kaufering has developed an automatic processing system that enables mercury and other valuable raw materials to be easily extracted and recycled in an environmentally-friendly way.

  • SRF

SRF Manufacture is an alternative fuel produced by shredding and dehydrating solid waste, typically consisting of combustible components of solid waste, including paper, card, wood, textiles and plastic. It can be produced to a range of specifications to meet customer requirements. Solid Recovered Fuel Manufacture The materials used to produce Solid Recovered Fuel pass through a series of shredders, screens, air classifiers/density separators and magnets. Inert materials, recyclable plastics and metals are extracted from the shredded material, leaving a mix of mainly non-recyclable paper, card, wood, textiles and plastic. Although a small proportion of these materials can be recycled the quality of these materials is compromised once they enter the residual waste stream and recovering energy from these materials is currently the best environmental option. • RDF

RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) is made from domestic waste which includes biodegradable material as well as plastics, and has a lower calorific value than SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel). RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) is used in combined heat and power facilities, many of them in Europe where they produce electricity and hot water for communal heating systems in the local area. Compared to landfilling, the lower carbon emissions resulting from RDF manufacture outweigh the emissions associated with transporting the reclaimed fuel. The increasing importance of Waste to Energy/RDF Waste to energy conversion is an increasingly recognised approach to resolving two issues: waste management and sustainable energy. Waste represents an increasingly important fuel source. Using waste as fuel can have important environmental benefits. It can not only provide a safe and cost-effective way of waste disposal but can also help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. https://the-mkgroup.com/portfolio/rdf-manufacture/

    Magnets for the recycling industry

Master Magnets equipment is used in many recycling applications such as the recycling of automobiles, electrical goods, skip waste, domestic waste, in fact wherever there is a need to separate metals from other materials. The process of recycling and reclamation invariably involves end-of-life products that may be shredded, crushed or fragmentised and require separation. Master Magnets supply the widest range of industrial magnetic equipment for the separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from materials such as aggregate, demolition waste, plastics, rubber and shredded wood.

    Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Recycling

During recent years, the importance of alternative energy sources has become increasingly apparent. With the Eldan Recycling System for MSW (Municipal Solid Waste), you can turn loose, baled or bagged waste like non-recyclable plastics, paper cardboard, mattresses, carpets, etc. into energy in the form of RDF (Residual Derived Fuel). RDF exploits the energy content of the traditional household waste (MSW) to substitute traditional fuels, thus posing an alternative that is attractive both environmentally and economically. Before the waste can be used as fuel however, it must be sorted and volume reduced into a homogenous fraction size of e.g. up to 50mm / 2 in. By downsizing the waste in the MSW Recycling System, liberated ferrous metals, heavy materials (stone, brick, iron) and wet material with low calorific value (smaller than 13MJ/kg) can be removed. The final product (approx. 75% of input material) is RDF with a high calorific value at approx. 26-28 MJ/kg, perfect as fuel ... ...
