waste tracking Applications

  • Waste water respirometry solutions for toxicity tracking

If toxicity is identified in a mixed sewage entering a treatment works, the problem for the plant manager is to track and identify the source of the toxicity. This can be done by sampling the effluent stream at various points in its length. By working in a logical sequence back up the sewer network the number of samples can be minimised. This type of testing should be rigorously enforced for new product introduction by a waste producer, as well as sampling the effluents directly at source. The samples would be tested against the activated sludge of the receiving works, using the Respiration Inhibition Test or the Nitrification Inhibition Test.

  • Rugged Mobile Technology for Waste Management

Waste management is another market for which it isn`t too hard to see why ruggedness is essential. Dirty, wet, dusty conditions are an accepted part of each day in the field. Tracking carts, recording data on routes, and GPS navigation are just a few of the areas where rugged mobile computers can help get the job done easier, faster and better.

    Recycling equipments for tyre recycling

Used tyres are among the largest and most problematic sources of waste today, due to the large volume produced and their durability. The same characteristics which make waste tyres a waste problem also make them one of the most re-used waste materials. Recycled tyre chips can be used for TDF (Tyre Derived Fuel) which is a fuel used for heat plants and cement ovens or for equestrian (i.e. rubber mixed with sand or sawdust used in the horse industry as ground in the stable or at the tracks). Rubber granulate is reused in e.g. sports fields, artificial turfs, rubber mats and moulded products. Rubber powder can be reused in rubber paved asphalt. The recovered steel can be smelted and reused just like non-recovered steel. Finally, the liberated textile has a very high effective burning value and can therefore be mixed with other materials in order to increase that material’s effective burning value. Measurement solution for Biomass combustion research

The use of alternative combustion fuels that provide a renewable source of energy is a major area of research and investment. Sources of biomass fuels include virgin wood, energy crops, agricultural residues, food waste and industrial waste. Controlling the combustion process of any new fuel and keeping track of the biomass fuel emissions of combustion by-products is important to users of these new fuels.

  • Turbidity Monitoring

The monitoring of Turbidity is key requirement of the water industry in both water supply and water recovery systems. Within the water supply process, monitoring of turbidity allows operators to assess the efficiency of filters for particulate removal through the process. Similarly, with water recovery (Waste Water Treatment Works), the measurement of turbidity is a key parameter to track the removal of particulate through the process. CTG can provide turbidity measurements with the UniLux sensor, or provides turbidity as one of the parameters available within the 3 channel TriLux. For applications requiring turbidity measurements compliant to ISO07027:1999, CTG can offer the TurbiLux Nephelometer.

  • Environmental Compliance and Management Services

CSRware professionals can assist you with getting started on how to identify your GHG reduction goals, how to identify energy, water, waste, chemical and other natural resource data to apply metrics for performance management. We can work with your team to develop survey's, scorecards or other mechanisms to gather the data required to help identify where your organization is at risk of not being in compliance. Our team will determine how to implement software to automate the process for you in order to make environmental compliance and risk management a repeatable process. You can then track, measure and take action on improving operations or reporting to internal and external business partners.
