Visit any large wastewater treatment plant in the United States or Canada and chances are Schwing Bioset equipment, whether piston pumps or sliding frames, is handling the dewatered biosolids. As with our biosolids handling equipment, our selection of Class `A` processes afford Municipalities best-in-class options when it comes to reliability, safety, ease of operation, consistent results, and affordability.
Basis of Control with Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide may be used to correct a serious filamentous bulking situation or, preferably, to prevent one from occurring until adjustments can be made to remove the cause. When applied to the return activated sludge, hydrogen peroxide supplies dissolved oxygen which helps restore the microbial activity necessary for effective operation, while selectively oxidizing the filaments which retard settling. The effective dose of hydrogen peroxide is a function of time and...
A municipal wastewater industry customer approached Heron Innovators with a need to run a treatment system pilot test. We placed our Model SAF125 Suspended Air Flotation (SAF) pilot trailer at the customer’s Sacramento, California biosolids recycling facility for three pilot runs. The pilot test runs provided data enhancing the performance of their digested sludge centrifuge operation. The pilot trailer thickens digested sludge from the treatment plant prior to the centrifuges. This advanced system is...
IMPROVED BIOSOLIDS/ BIO SLUDGE DEWATERING WITH WILSA® CONDITIONING
The WILSA ElectroWave™ effect can be used to condition polar fluids to alter their physical
properties, improving several chemical and physical processes.
- Reducing surface tension to improve the ability of water to repel solids - break physical / chemical emulsions
- Increasing the contact angle of water - improve coalescing of solid particulate toaccelerate phase separation
- Lowering the viscosity of water - reduce friction of flocculated...
In the treatment of sanitary sewage, bio-solids are separated from the liquid. These bio-solids are concentrated and dewatered using filter presses, centrifuges, or other devices. Hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans are released during the dewatering operation. Carus permanganates react quickly and produce immediate results for hydrogen sulfide removal in order to provide a safe, odor free environment and minimize corrosion due to sulfides.
