Water monitoring involves many different activitites, from ensuring the quality of surface or underground water, both for human beings and animal life, to the monitoring of a country’s water infrastructure. Wireless sensor networks are becoming increasingly popular in this area and ADVANTICSYS has already explored its use for many novel applications.
To protect humans and the environment from damage by air pollution, it is of the utmost importance to measure the levels of pollutants in the air. Real time monitoring of dangerous gases is particularly interesting in hazardous areas, as the conditions can change dramatically very quickly, with serious consequences. ADVANTICSYS employs its knowledge in wireless sensor networks to develop customized solutions for our customers.
Taking measurements on rotating equipment, such as a kiln or rotary table, usually requires a complex and expensive system of cabling. Even taking precautions and using specialized equipment doesn’t eliminate cable tangles and breaks.
The SureCross Wireless Network eliminates complexities associated with data acquisition from rotating and moving machinery such as a rotating kilns in cement or composting industry. Crucial temperature data is acquired using a thermocouple and transmitted from the FlexPowered SureCross Nodes to a remote Gateway in the plant’s control center.
Wireless sensors for monitoring grain quantity in silos. Grain level is measured and volume or weight are calculated. Information is transmitted over a cellular network to a central server for viewing over the Internet. Additional information includes temperature, power supply status and cellular signal strength. Authorized users can browse and view the state of each silo.
Real time monitoring of structures is an excellent field of application for wireless sensor networks. ADVANTICSYS has provided solutions for the monitoring of structure in different fields, from bridges, where the vibration has to be controlled both in the construction and operation phase, to cultural heritage buildings with their structural integrity under risk.
