Treatment, Optimization and Design for WWTP's

The purpose of the work is to demonstrate the rationale, procedures and advantages of using process simulation to evaluate the steps involved in process upgrades from conventional or fully aerobic process conditions to multi stage systems capable of operating as a BNR system. In the author's experience and the conclusions of this presentation are that the use of these systems in daily operations and in the preparation for process upgrading is empowering and economically advantageous. Waste to Energy

We can treat the air streams from waste management plants, MBT (Mechanical Biological Treatment) reception and composting areas, Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP), Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plants, gasification of waste, syngas, torrefaction, gas engines and biogas upgrading. In waste management plants and WWTP, we remove the odors that may be causing a nuisance to neighbors, with bioreactors using Biomass to degrade odorous components and where odors are particularly intractable or VOC emissions higher, thermal oxidizers to meet prescribed emission limits and odor levels. In RDF Plants, Syngas, Gasification, Gas Engine and Biogas Upgrading applications, we employ thermal oxidizers, particulate removal and DeNOX systems, for the control of VOC, NOx, CO and particulates to prescribed emission limits.

Open Channel flow monitoring for wastewater treatment plant

After 16 years of service, the Long Sault WWTP replaced two older Greyline Open Channel Flow Monitors with new data logging OCF 5.0 models. This SBR treatment plant`s influent is measured with flow through two 6` Parshall Flumes.

  • Blowers for waste water treatment

Usage here can vary greatly, from small waste water treatment plants (WWTP`s), serving just 2 - 5 population equivalents, up to much larger sites which treat the waste from cities with many thousand population equivalents

Air filtration and gas purification solutions for municipal

There are ever more uses of water in human activities that require its subsequent purification. Of this, treating this water in waste water treatment plants (WWTP) before releasing it into the ecosystem is in rising demand. Additionally, there is also an increasing need to treat solid waste in rubbish tips to minimise environment impact in this process.

  • Aircraft De-icing Fluids in Wastewater

Spent aircraft de-icing fluid is a major pollution conĀcern at airports especially in areas with severe winter climates. AnoxKaldnes and Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies can combine our experience in both past and present projects to develop a solution to minimize these concerns, whether it is at a local on-site treatment facility or in conjunction with a local municipal WWTP.

Real-time Control System for Wastewater Treatment Plants

Wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) are subject to large variation in flow and load, not to speak of uncertainties on the composition of the incoming wastewater. On top of that, the activated sludge treatment process, as used by the vast majority of treatment plants, is difficult to control due to the complex behaviour of the biological process. Nevertheless WWTPs are run 24/7, with operators and management challenged to meet ever tightening environmental regulations.

In order to meet the operational demands of modern-day plants, a new control system was developed. Proprietary control algorithms were introduced based on a large set of data from nutrient measurements in various WWTPs. The customer`s benefits are twofold: (1) achieving optimum effuent quality and, at th same time, (2) lowering energy needs and dosing of commidity chemicals.

  • Odor control solutions for wastewater industry

Municipal wastewater treatment plants (wwtp) provide an essential community service that is vital for the protection of public health and the environment in which we live. Without affordable wastewater services, the quality of life within a community or municipality can be drastically diminished. Most cities, towns and communities in the US and Cananda provide wastewater treatment services, unfortunately these services and plants come with many undesirable off gasses and odors. There are a number of challenges that currently face the wastewater treatment industry including, global urban population growth, more stringent discharge regulations for industries, and demand for water conservation through wastewater reuse.
