Ozone application in pulp bleaching
Ozone is used in the pulp and paper industry to improve the mechanical properties of chemical or mechanical pulps and reduce the environmental pollution caused by chlorine in the process of pulp bleaching. Ozone is a kind of bleaching agent with strong oxidation, which has a very strong bleaching effect. In the bleaching process, it can not only break and open the natural lignin structural unit, but also react with the lignin in the pulp to lead into the shuttle base, increase the hydrophilicity and improve the brightness of the pulp.
The intermediate products or self decomposition products, such as peroxides, epoxides, hydroxyl radicals, and peroxy groups, can degrade carbohydrates.
The biggest attraction of ozone bleaching is that it has no pollution to the environment. If the o-z-e-p bleaching process can be used to bleach the paper pulp, it is the most ideal for any paper mill.
Equipment characteristics
- The ozone generator is composed of an ozone discharge chamber, a set of intermediate frequency and high voltage power supply for ozone and a control system.
- Ozone discharge chamber is a device for installing ozone generating unit. The ozone generating unit is the most basic component of ozone generation, including electrode and medium tube. The electrode is the conductive part that forms the conductive interface with the medium with different conductivity. In the ozone generation unit, it refers to the conductor that distributes the high-voltage electric field; the dielectric tube is the zero and component of the substance whose basic electromagnetic field performance is polarized by the electric field. In the ozone generation unit, it refers to the insulator that is located between the two electrodes and causes stable glow discharge.
- The outdoor electrode of ozone discharge of our company is made of 316L stainless steel, and the ozone generating unit is arranged in honeycomb shape. The patent DTA non glass discharge body - high voltage electrode and dielectric tube are used as the integrated structure, and the enamel dielectric layer is sintered on the surface of high voltage electrode. Each ozone generating unit is equipped with an independent high-voltage fuse to ensure the normal, reliable and effective operation of the discharge chamber as a whole.
- The ozone power supply is a device that converts the input power frequency power supply into the medium frequency high voltage power supply, also known as the 'power supply unit', to form a high voltage electric field in the ozone generation device. Ozone power supply device mainly includes rectifier inverter circuit, reactor, high voltage transformer, control device and display operation panel. The rectifier inverter converts the power supply into the medium and high frequency AC power supply required by glow discharge. After boosting by high voltage transformer, the medium frequency and high voltage power supply is delivered to the ozone generator.
- The power control device is designed as a single-chip microcomputer. The CPU is used for digital control, and the automatic soft start function is set. The ozone power supply device starts and shuts down automatically according to the set program. The ozone power supply unit is equipped with multiple protection devices to ensure the reliability and stability of the whole unit, and the protection circuit or safety circuit for the overall protection is designed.
- The ozonator is cooled by water. Sufficient cooling water meeting the quality requirements can effectively remove the heat released during corona discharge. The cooling water can be recycled and cooled by external process.
- The output of the generator can be adjusted according to the actual needs of the user, and has multiple protection functions to prevent damage to the generator under unexpected circumstances.
