Application
Revamping your plants with MicroGas™
Due to ageing plants the OPEX are increasing to a high level. CAPEX of installing a whole new system is also very high. Furthermore, clogging is a common problem in the recirculation stream of the DAF which affects the downstream biological treatment plant.
A MicroGas™ –unit can be easily integrated in your system to revamp the plant und prevent clogging. A very low energy consumption, less downtimes and maintenance work results in a fast payback time.
MicroGas™ is adjustable during production fluctuations
High loaded streams from different production lines generate grave variations in concentration and flow rates. Conventional DAF systems are designed for fix, average conditions. Due to high flow rates, the recirculation stream will block and thus affect other treatments.
MicroGas™ is an adjustable solution, whereby the size of the micro bubbles can be changed depending on the fluctuating conditions. Additionally, one or more MicroGas™ units can be easily installed in the DAF plant and switched on as needed.
Operating in harsh environments
Conventional water treatment plants, especially applied materials such as polymers, can not face such a large variation in concentration, temperature, pH-Value, effluent volume and load.
Our ceramic based technologies are resistant to critical, harsh environments and salinity. The beneficial cost effectiveness is due to their low OPEX, low energy consumption, high recovery rates and high longevity.
Biological treatment is disproportionate
If the removal of suspended solids (TSS) and oxidizable substances (COD, BOD) from your wastewater is sufficient, the purchase of a biological treatment plant is uneconomical due to high OPEX (personnel, space requirement,..).
akvoFloat™ removes up to 99% of all suspended substances (TSS, COD, BOD) regardless of fluctuations in flowrates and concentration. Due to the small space requirement, an energy consumption of < 1kWh/m3 and automation you can count on very low OPEX.
Reusing waste water for financial savings
Due to biological treatment bacteria is added to the treated water, which make it unsuitable for reuse.
A downstream akvoFloat™-unit removes bacteria so that the treated water can be reused as industrial wash water. This will reduce your ecological footprint and external disposal costs.
Details
There is typically four main water processes involved in food and beverage processing. These processes are cooling water, process water, boiler feed water and process wastewater. The typical allocation of water used in each process varies by industry, from about 60-65% for processing uses in the meat & poultry industry to about 15-20% for the sugar processing industry.
- Process water in the food industry typically includes the washing of raw food items and food processing equipment, dissolving/extraction, and the addition of water to the final product.
- Cooling water is typically used in refrigeration equipment and in equipment required to cool raw materials used in production.
- Boiler feed water is used for cooking, evaporation or heating equipment used in production.
- Wastewater treatment in food/beverage processing operations typically involves treating varying strength effluent streams that can fluctuate in flow and composition including total suspended solids (TSS), fats/oils/greases, particulate BOD and COD, making wastewater treatment challenging.
akvola Technologies custom builds specialized food and beverage water treatment solutions serving the needs of the poultry processing, meat processing, seafood processing, beverage, and fruit/vegetable processing market segments of the food and beverage industry.
