A Comprehesive Approach to Performance Verification for Stormwater Treatment Systems
In recent years, there have been several attempts to standardize field testing protocols to address the difficulty of comparing the performance of different stormwater treatment technologies tested under disparate field conditions and protocols. Following these protocols will enable a direct evaluation of a particular best management practice’s (BMP) ability to capture a specific pollutant load from a specific site in a specific region. However, they contain no mechanism for estimating the performance of the same device in future applications in different climatic regions or where different pollutant loading characteristics are expected. This paper will demonstrate a performance verification process that is designed to produce sizing criteria that will account for such differences.
