Actual scale experiment of selector application and the situation of bulking sludge problem in southern Thailand

0
Activated Sludge Process (ASP) was applied to effluent from factories in southern Thailand. To increase their treatability using a limited land area for the treatment plant, the ASP was mainly designed for carbon removal. A survey of 17 wastewater treatment plants, in the concentrated latex rubber and seafood industries, was conducted. An actual scale experiment of selector application was carried out at a representative treatment plant. The selectors could change the type of filamentous bacteria from type 0041 to type 1851. The parallel type of selectors, gave a better total removal capacity than ASP without selectors.
