1. The problem

The effluents of such production sites are polluted both, with

  1. Biologically acting active substances and their byproducts, respectively with
  2. Solvents (methanol, aromates, etc.).

Waste water flow ~ 200 to 300 m³/day
COD ~ 15,0 to 20,0 g/L,
NH4N ~ 0,4 g/L to 0,6 g/L

2. The solution

Lab scale tests pointed to feasibility of anaerobic-aerobic treatment with biomass, immobilised on LEVAPOR carrier, results of pilot scale tests served as basis for design of a technical scale plant, eliminating ~ 92-97% of the COD-load.

3. The plant has been started 2006.
