Analysis of Natural Gas Products by GC / TCD / FID

The complex mixture of condensible hydrocarbons and permanent gases in a natural gas product has historically been separated on gas chromatographs equipped with dual columns and a switching valve. The light gases are separated from heavier compounds on a molecular sieve column, which is then backflushed onto a suitable column to separating the rest of the mixture.

The Buck Scientific Model 910 Natural Gas Analyzer performs repeatable, high quality analyses of permanent gases, and light hydrocarbons at ambient or controlled higher temperatures. Among the compounds detected are hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, methane, ethane, propane, butane, pentane and hexane homologues, to levels as low as 0.1% (v/v).
