Application of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers SPE to Sample Cleanup and Analysis for Food and Environmental Contaminan
MIP SPE was successfully used for extraction of multiple classes of food and environmental contaminants from difficult matrices, such as egg, oil and flour. Six nitroimidazoles were extracted from egg and milk with recoveries typically over 90%. Among NSAIDs compounds, acidic compounds gave good recoveries between 100-115% while non-acidic compounds gave less desirable recoveries from water. Nine PAHs with four or more rings from oil resulted in most of the recoveries over 80%. More hydrophobic ergot alkaloids gave better extraction and reproducibility.
