This paper presents a novel in-car design to recognise the driver's voice and to control in-car devices. In a non-stationary noise car environment, a speech recognition kit SR-07 with speech recognition chip HM2007 has less than 10% successful hit-rate. With an adaptive Wiener filter, the successful hit-rate has improved to as much as 75%.

Next Generation: Phosphor Coatings
Reducing the Cost of LED Fixtures with Next Generation Phosphors There are two main methods through which LEDs can produce white light. One method is to use red, green and blue diodes so that their combined output appears white to the human eye. However, the limitation of this approach is that it requires three types of LEDs, and heat dissipation becomes an issue when they are assembled into a chip. The other option, which offers improved efficacy and is preferred by the lighting industry, is to use blue LEDs...
Raw material cycle: from chip to briquette to product - Case Study
Thanks to their briquetting system from RUF Frischhut can redeploy production scrap and melt it again Ludwig Frischhut GmbH and Co. KG have closed the circle on their raw material cycle by utilising a briquetting press from RUF: cast chips produced during the machining of parts for water supply and sewage disposal are pressed to solid briquettes and then melted in the in-house foundry and cast to form new raw products. The melting of the loose chips would however not be possible. Therefore the company is saving...
Making environmentally friendly fuel from wood chips - Case Study
The RUF briquetting press earns the Ortinger company additional profits During the production of round bars or rods for flags, skewers and many more products made from wooden planks, lots of wood chips are accumulated. Instead of disposing of them as waste, the wood processor Ortinger presses them into briquettes, which they then sell as fuel. This way they can economically support themselves in another way and their RUF briquetting press has started to pay itself off from the first day on. The wood processor...
5 Essential Wood Chipper Safety Tips
If you use a wood chipper around your property, then you know what powerful machines they are. For cleaning up brush piles and making valuable wood chip mulch, using a wood chipper is often the easiest and most effective method. But with great power comes great responsibility. In this case, it is your responsibility to stay safe when using your wood chipper. Here are some easy ways to prevent injuries while wood chipping: 1. Wear safety gear. Wear eye protection and ear protection when chipping. These machines...
CHIP-tuning for biological wastewater treatment plants
The demand for efficiency improvement in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants (WWTP’s) is increasingly based on problems related to the water quality, process stability and/or insufficient performance in the COD removal and/or nitrification process. New, stricter requirements or the need for higher removal efficiency intensify the demand for optimizing the existing technology by means of “tuning“. This article is about the efficiency improvement of existing biological treatment...
