Beak and Johnston installs Hydroflux Hy-DAF HD20 for new ready meals factory - Case study
Beak & Johnston are a local and family owned food processing business with over 25 years' experience dealing in fresh cut and value added meat products, fresh soups sauces and prepared meals. A recent expansion included the construction of a ready meals facility in Arndell Park in Western Sydney.
In order to comply with Sydney Water's discharge requirements, Hydroflux were engaged to designed and construct a wastewater treatment plant. With very limited space, a rotary wedgewire screen, 9m high balance tank and HyDAF HD20 complete with chemical coagulation and flocculation was installed along with a control system that allows Hydroflux to monitor the plant remotely.
The HD20 system is manufactured from stainless steel with a unique counter current scraping system to maximise sludge dryness. The fully enclosed guarding.
System allows cleaning to be conducted without the possibility of water spray on surrounding equipment.
The system meets all of Sydney Water’srequirements including a substantial reduction inBOD which minimises trade waste costs. The project was managed by Wiley and completed early 2015.
