Hot pressure washers have revolutionized commercial cleaning processes. Roads, gas stations, boats, cars, airplanes, factory floors, basements, kitchens and similar areas can now be cleaned more easily than before. No longer are contractors depending exclusively on tedious methods such as trailers with rotary brushes to handle layers of grease and grime. Hot water pressure washers hold many advantages over other cleaning techniques.

Different Temperature Options
Hot pressure washers generally offer two or more temperature options. When you need to clean light layers of dirt, set the temperature low so as to use water at non-heated or room temperature. This helps save fuel or electricity, depending on the power source of the system.

When you need hot pressure washers for more intense cleaning tasks, including the removal of grease, petrochemical residues, and fuel, set the temperature to hot. Water from these hot water pressure washers can be heated to as high as 210°F. Hot water removes grease by dissolving the chemical bonds holding grease layers together. This is why contractors prefer to use hot water pressure washers for removing grease, sugars, and similar compounds from hard surfaces.

100% Wet Steam
However, hot water pressure washers do have limitations in removing the most challenging grease and residue. For such demanding applications, wet steam pressure washers with top temperatures up to 330°F clean a variety of surfaces quickly and efficiently. For example, when you are using these hot water pressure washers with steam output, you can remove graffiti faster, because graffiti is made of paint, grease, and other emulsifying compounds.

High Pressure
A pressure washer may reach very high pressure levels. Certain types of pressure washing equipment are used because their high pressure levels combined with high temperatures offer the most powerful cleaning mechanism. Some industrial pressure washing equipment may have pressure levels as high as 3500 psi.

Selection of the right pressure levels of pressure washers is key, as too much or too little pressure can make the application challenging and even damage the surface. For example, in auto detailing pressure levels should never exceed 1500 psi.

Choice of Power Methods
Electric pressure washers are usually the first choice of many contractors. Electricity is a clean source of energy and it is available almost anywhere. Electric engines are almost noiseless and they do not emit smoke. However, electric pressure washers cannot be used in areas with no electricity supply, and this often includes areas such as highways, semi-urban and non-urban locations, and buildings under construction.

When electric power wash equipment are not an option, contractors use gas pressure washers or diesel pressure washers. Propane pressure washers are also popular where propane is the cheaper or more convenient option. Gas pressure washers, which need to be housed outdoors due to noise and smoke emission, are ideal for outdoor locations where electricity is not available.

Hot pressure washers, with their many features and multiple applications, are always a good investment for contractors, building maintenance staff, and others who need to clean commercial spaces on a regular basis.
