Beyond Reporting – Systematic Approaches to Sustained Corporate Responsibility

Corporate Responsibility (CR) is undisputed as an essential component of any successful business strategy. In addition, the transparent disclosure and reporting of CR information to a wide range of interested stakeholders is a requirement in the current market place - a part of the Licence to Operate.

However, CR as an all-encompassing business management approach is still widely misunderstood and generally implemented poorly and inefficiently. Programmes tend to be implemented in isolation and inconsistent methods deployed.

CR itself is nothing more than a structured and sustained approach to the management of all risks in relation to the stakeholders of the business. Therefore, an effective CR strategy and programme is one that is treated like all other corporate risk management disciplines and uses best practice for standardised risk management.
