Progressively more UK businesses are turning to environmental professionals to drive cost savings and deliver environmental change.
UK businesses are increasingly hiring environmental professionals that can help them realise substantial energy and resource-efficiency savings. This is the conclusion taken by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), which claims that companies are turning to its members to help them make energy savings. Defra estimates that £23bn worth of savings can be made through no-cost or low-cost measures.
According to IEMA’s research, high-tech manufacturing firms are leading the charge for environmental and sustainability professionals. It also notes there has also been a marked increase in hiring for senior roles with salaries over £70,000 and waste management practitioners.
