The Cape Cod Times has published an article on McLane’s exports of its profilers, samplers, and flotation around the world.  Recently, the Small Business Administration (SBA) had selected McLane Research Laboratories, Inc. as 2017 Exporter of the Year for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The article included a video of a McLane Moored Profiler descending our 50 ft test tank.

Sean F. Driscoll writes: “McLane specializes in refining and commercializing technology that was first developed by research institutions like the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. The company’s reach is decidedly global …and, in April, [McLane] was named the Massachusetts 2017 Exporter of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the federal agency that aids and protects small business interests. The award is given to companies that increase sales, profits or grow their employment because of exporting.”

Located in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, McLane manufactures time-series in situ oceanographic instrumentation for scientific deployments in the open ocean and freshwater environments. McLane manufactures three main oceanographic product lines: profilers, samplers and flotation. McLane instruments have been deployed worldwide in some of the most remote oceans on earth. Products are delivered worldwide both directly and through international sales representatives.

“We’re a very small company, but we’re very much a global company,” COO Yuki Honjo said.
