Application: Raw water reservoir, Ecuador, July 2013

Description: Installation of three LG Sonic® e-line units to cover a water surface of a 24,000-m2 raw water reservoir, which is further treated in the local drinking water plant

Project objective: The raw water reservoir experienced problems with algae growth. Additionally, they settled down on the liner prior to entering the drinking water treatment plant. As the demand for water of approximately 250,000 inhabitants was met by this plant, it was of the utmost importance to combat the algae in an environmentally friendly manner, thus increasing water quality and clarity. After the installation, the progress was remarkable. Within a time frame of 24 hours, the algae completely disappeared from the surface.
